Pete Hegseth Orders Return of Confederate Memorial to Arlington National Cemetery

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is committed to rooting out woke, and that includes returning confederate memorials to their rightful places.
In an X post on Tuesday, Hegseth announced the grand return of the Confederate Memorial, commonly known as “Reconciliation Monument.”
“I’m proud to announce that Moses Ezekiel’s beautiful and historic sculpture — often referred to as ‘The Reconciliation Monument’ — will be rightfully be returned to Arlington National Cemetery near his burial site,” Hegseth announced.
“It never should have been taken down by woke lemmings,” he continued. “Unlike the Left, we don’t believe in erasing American history — we honor it.”
The monument was removed in 2023 under former Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during Joe Biden’s presidency.

Good. I can’t imagine Jackson Circle without it. Fortunately, I left before the memorial was removed. There’s a person buried in Section 16 who I share a name with. He was with the VA Heavy Artillery and lived to be nearly 100 years old.

Lloyd Austin….again…what a disgrace. His tenure as SECDEF should be erased from history.
It should be required reading for everything from ROTC to CGSC.

I appreciate the mindset of Trump’s current administration. It would be nice to see ALL of the statuary that was removed restored, particularly in D.C.

My non-nautically trained guess is that the flags are bravo zulu. I never understood why BZ came to be representative of a good thing, I just know that the Navy says so.
I had to use one of these charts at Camp Lemonnier to decipher the signal flag message displayed at their galley (I had been away from the maritime service a few years).
The flags spelled out GO NAVY BEAT ARMY
“GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY”
