President Donald Trump orders new national census
President Donald Trump took to Truth Social announcing that he ordered the Department of Commerce to promptly start work on a new census. Trump is calling for a highly accurate census that counts only American citizens and legal residents, but excluding illegal aliens. This move threatens the Democrats weaponizing the illegal alien population to strengthen their numbers in Congress at the expense of the Republicans.

President Donald Trump declared in a Thursday morning Truth Social post that he has directed the Commerce Department to start working on a new census, noting that illegal aliens in the U.S. will not be included in the population count.
“I have instructed our Department of Commerce to immediately begin work on a new and highly accurate CENSUS based on modern day facts and figures and, importantly, using the results and information gained from the Presidential Election of 2024,” the president said in the post.
“People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added.
The U.S. conducts a census every decade — the last decennial census was conducted in 2020 and another is scheduled for 2030.
The decennial census is key to determining the balance of political power each state holds, because the population counts are used in apportionment, the determination of how many seats each state gets in the House of Representatives.

Because they count illegals. Many of whom flooded into California and other liberal, high welfare states. A census will give them more weight, which is what they want.

We do want to know. Reducing the number of illegals in the country first will reduce the margin of error, ensure a more accurate count, and reduce the population of blue representative districts. Effectively spaying and neutering your liberal/progressive/democrat congresscritters.
Only legal residents should be counted because the census is used to apportion the 435 seats in the House. It is part of the reason the D-rats want all the illegals to stay, so the blue states will get more representatives. It is part of their plan for defacto one party rule of the nation.

If we’re going to the expense of counting everyone, count ALL of them but track their status. Better to know we have 300 million legit citizens and 30 million illegals than to know only the 300 and wonder how many illegals there are.
