Milblog Conference

| April 11, 2010

I’m still unpacking after the Milblog Conference. I stopped off and visited my kids who are still trapped in the Beltway and let the grand kids beat on me for awhile.

The Milblog Conference was great. it was the first time it ever sold out and despite a night of trying to drain Northern Virginia of adult beverages on Friday, everyone stuck it out until the end on Saturday. There was a lot of good participation from the military services and they answered all of our questions (they even answered all of Army Sergeant’s questions). The highlight of my weekend was getting multiple hugs from my favorite blogger, Baldilocks. And hugs from all of the lovely ladies who make up our community. And I got hugs hugs from Concretebob more times than I want to count.

If you want to see what kind of great stuff we discussed, there are more videos at YouServed.

I’m waiting for the awards ceremony video to appear – it was hilarious. i won’t spoil the presentation of the “Veterans” category for you – you have to see the video. As soon as I find it, I’ll get it up.

Let put this photo up before anyone else does;

eve-and-me

That’s me and Eve Chase (from American Women Veterans and their Facebook page) clowning around. We used to have big arguments, but she left IAVA and we’re fine now.

Now Sniper can’t blackmail me.

I’m sure it was rough having to take a picture with a pretty girl. But I’m more hardcore than you. I take on multiple women at one time:

Damn, Casey…Them girls is go–geous! And I can say that as a chick, I am not jealoous…

Jonn-
It was a great conference, my second using the internet. Excellent stuff, although TSO looked like he might be slightly under the hair of the dog…

TSO

TSO was a hurting unit when he was on his panel. I must have drank 6 glasses of water, and Brandon Friedman probably wondered why I was sweating out Guinness like a tap.

AW1 Tim

Heh….. it was good to see you fellow’s faces and talk a bit/. Also nice to meet up with some of the other ne’er-do-wells who comment here and elsewhere.

I’ll have more later after I rest up a bit from the trip. 🙂

Rurik

Jonn, I don’t understand the look on your face.
The last time I had that sort of expression I was being fitted with a Foley catheter, which would seem an entirely different experience.

Has Eve threatened to morph into Medea B., or something like that?

Genevieve Chase

Here’s a better link to the Facebook site. : )

It’s a good picture, even though he’s usually embarrassed to be seen with me in public.

I can’t help but feel like the caption for the Lilyea/Eve photo is “ARGGH! Get it off me!”

dutch508

gaaa…where is her other hand?

CB

Why do you think he has that look, dutch? Sniper may not have the goods, but I have some that will net me BIG money. (or not).

HomefrontSix

Those of us that were in the chat room were trying to get someone to streak the room as a way to wake TSO up 🙂

Debra

He’s got that look on his face thinking about what’s going to happen to him when his wife finds out. 🙂

Blanka

LoL, yup!

Army Sergeant

He’s not kidding about the hugs. There were as many hugs as an IVAW convention. TSO can never pick on me ever again. About that, anyway.
I’ll post myself when I can do it from my comp and not a blackberry.

The Sniper

Me, blackmail? I am shocked, Jonn, shocked. You know damned well that I never blackmail with actual pictures when I can photoshop something more embarrassing.

Genevieve Chase

Yes… I left IAVA and started my own club. I will still never admit you were right, even if…

; )
