Chiroux…again
NYC Vet sent me the lastest report of a matthis Chiroux siting. Apparently, he had time to think about incorporating his confessions of a few months ago (when Kris Goldsmith accused him of bragging about raping a Pinay girl). He’s expanded his story to make himself out to be some kind of dauntless killing machine. From OANOW.com;
Chiroux said he refused deployment to Iraq because he believes it is an illegal occupation and that the Army fosters a culture of abuse and torture.
Now, after obtaining a general discharge, Chiroux is still speaking out against the Iraq War.
He told the congregation Sunday there’s “a Fourth Reich movement right here on our shining society on the hill.”
Yup, a Fourth Reich, right here. You’ve seen the storm troopers out marching in the streets, haven’t you? I’d like to think he’s talking about us here at TAH the Fourth Reich, actually, since we’re always on prepared to slap down his lies. That’s the 4th Reich in his little insulated world
Chiroux served for four years as an Army journalist in Japan, Germany, the Philippines and Afghanistan. He said his job was to disseminate propaganda.
“I did very high-level propaganda,” he said. “We were targeting members of Congress … The military is maybe one of the greatest public relations hoaxes ever in this country.”
High-level propaganda – like this story about Army and Navy helicopter pilots training together in Japan. Or this one about USAEUR’s NCO of the Year. Or this high-level secret photo of an NCO studying for NCO of the Year competition. Or this article about a team of mechanics trying to improve the Hummer. That’s some real high-level stuff right there.
Chiroux admitted to mistakes in the past, including run-ins with the law as a juvenile. He said those run-ins landed him in court and, subsequently, in the Army. Once in the Army, he said he was taught how to punch someone in a way that it would kill that person and how to stab someone to do the same.
“I was taught how to kill people like everyone else,” he said. He said racism and sexism were encouraged.
Chiroux said the Army told him, “These aren’t people. They’re Haji. Hajis killing and mutilating your buddies.”
He said the Army used religious fears against detainees in interrogations.
Chiroux also said that while deployed, he and other Army members solicited prostitutes in the Philippines and Japan.
Yup, Matthis Chiroux, the 90-pound dork, can punch you and kill you with that one punch. I spent 20 years in the infantry, you’d think somewhere along the line they would have taught me that punch, wouldn’t you?
His stabbing story would be more impressive if the Army had taught him how to stab someone and NOT kill them. He makes it sound like a judge sentenced him to the Army – maybe he’d like to explain how he spent five years on active duty then. It seems to me that he extended his enlistment somewhere along the line during those grueling tours of Japan and Germany.
Can anyone out there whoever wore a uniform since the Korean War remember the Army encouraging you to be racist or sexist? I can’t. the Army is the most politically correct organization I’ve ever seen. I know Matthis wants to blame his own shortcomings on the Army culture, but I again, I was in the infantry and we weren’t allowed to be racist and sexist.
Were there racist and sexist people in the Army? Sure, just like every where in American society. But to say it’s encouraged is just a flat-out lie.
Of course, he ends his little tale with the story of how he scored a complete victory over the Army when he stood up to the review board and they cowered before his mighty intellect;
“I went to this hearing. I sat before this board and I defended myself,” he said.
Chiroux said he told the board that he was not a coward. He said he told them that the Iraq War was a criminal occupation. He said soldiers in Iraq were being forced to commit war crimes.
He received an honorable discharge.“I haven’t so much as lost my G.I. Bill,” he said. Chiroux still receives G.I. benefits, including funds to attend college.
First of all, he didn’t get an honorable discharge. He got a general discharge under honorable conditions – the same discharge he would have received if he’d just stayed home and kept his mouth shut and waited for his discharge in the mail.
Secondly, he doesn’t qualify for the GI Bill, and we’re doing our best to make sure he doesn’t get them. The VA OIG’s office is monitoring him.
At least he’s not calling himself an “Afghanistan veteran” anymore. I guess that’s something. We’re still waiting for his ex-girlfriend’s tell-all book to come out. That should be a roar.
It’s nice to know that on a slow news day we can count on Chiroux to give us something to write about and play Whack-a-Matthis.

When can we finally flush this turd? I mean seriously…he’s like a Barry Manilow 8-track at a yard sale, you can’t even give his ass away, much less get rid of it.
Fourth Reich??!! What happened to the First, Second & Third Reiches??!! Where was I when all of this was going on?? (snark).
As for judges making a person “go Army or go to Jail”, I thought that practice had been done away with loong before I joined (see below). At least I never found anyone who had been “forced” to join under those circumstances. The recruiters & commanders didn’t want to have to deal with such dicipline problems that couldn’t even learn how to stay out of trouble. And frankly, I wouldn’t want one like them covering my back in a fire fight.
Having served & retired (1978-1998) from Uncle Sam Ain’t Released Me Yet (U S ARMY), I can vouch & verify Jonn’s write-up. PC, to a fault – at least in public & military dealings. Boring classes every year to remind us of how PC we must be.
Hey Jonn, keep up the good work on tracking CM & denying the little p**k his non-earned benefits.
And I would consider it an extra-special favor (if you can) to notify me when / if he’s ever in the SLC, Utah area. I’d just LOVE to do a meet-&-greet, with a little “wall-to-wall” counseling thrown in for good measure.
Okay, more on what Matthis is up to. He has found a new source to get funds – churches. Although he is a total atheist, and no doubt forgetting to mention it, he is now making the rounds as a speaker at unaligned churches and they are taking up a collections him and setting up funds to support him. He has softened his message and playing up his healing broken leg (which is being treated at total taxpayer expense as he has zero insurance). First stop: Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship last Sunday morning. His hometown, unbelievable.
That only makes sense. Matt Chiroux considers Christians to be nothing more than pathetic, mindless sheep. Why not fleece them?
Chiroux= Spineless Pussy & Rapist
If he gets his head any further up his ass he is going to starve to death.
I have said it many times and will say it again Matthis is a coward a fraud a liar and a self confessed rapist. I might not agree with a lot of things going on, but I know I was never taught by the military how to be a racist or a sexist.
“Although he is a total atheist, and no doubt forgetting to mention it, he is now making the rounds as a speaker at unaligned churches and they are taking up collections for him.”
It’s only a matter of time before that gig implodes and we see him being arrested in drag on “Cops” peddling his arse for his next crack hit.
“I have said it many times and will say it again Matthis is a coward a fraud a liar and a self confessed rapist.” And NOT a veteran of Afghanistan.
I don’t think this is fair–he spoke at one church. and i highly doubt he was expecting to be paid; we all know that church-goers are generous, they probably insisted on giving him an honorarium.
and who cares if he has no health insurance? many americans lack health insurance. health care is a real problem in this country. most college students do not have health care. if was unfortunate that he had a fall; his injury has nothing to do with his activism…why even bother capitalizing on it?
who is nyc vet?
I really did enjoy the article, actually made me laugh. What I think is the funniest part of it all (though I am sure it has been pointed out many times) is how, as terribly unconstitutional and oppressive and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Reich as the war and our government are, it only became that once Chiroux got his letter of reactivation. I mean, I am sure it was terrifying in Japan and downright horrifying in Germany which is why he never took exception then, so I will let that one slide. But how long was he out before the “brainwashing” wore off enough for him to get so-called facts? Funny, the timing that is.
Ugh, I don’t want to see the words “Chiroux” and “whack” in the same sentence.
Matt’s dad has finally had enough. Here is a link to the O-A News site… Rob Chiroux has responded to his son’s actions. http://www.oanow.com/oan/news/local/article/local_soldier_who_refused_redeployment_speaks_in_auburn/81698/#comments
Claymore I can’t believe you’d insult Manilow like that!
Claymore I can’t believe you’d insult Matthis like that!
A, Matthis is a liar and fraud, which part of his story haven’t you been paying attention to? And it’s not activism, it’s called free-loading, mooching, being a lazy fuck.
Care to address the rape part of dickwad’s, I mean Matthis’ story?
So, he got a General Discharge? But what was the condition of separation? A General Discharge can have different conditions, such as unsuitability and Other than Honorable. It was an Administrative Separation(AdSep)
i had a CO in the early 80s at a Fleet Replacement Squadron that said an Honorable Discharge was pretty easy to get. Be on time, be in the correct uniform and be mildy interested in your job and in 4 years you had an Honorable Discharge. You have to work at it to get a bad one.
I guess mr. chiroux worked very hard to get that General, when a stretch at Fort Leavenworth was probably the more appropriate outcome.
How is he a fraud? He served for five years. He was in Afghanistan for a short time, but you don’t need to be there for more than ten minutes to see what is going on there.
What does he lie about? He never claimed to have served in Iraq.
what rape? According to the letters he wrote, he didn’t rape anyone. How can we honestly take someone else’s word for what happened between Matthis and a prostitute?
Mathis also mentioned that his higher-ups purchased these women for him for doing a good job–why isn’t anyone addressing that sick fact? THAT is sexist.
Jonn wrote: Move Chiroux’s balls to one side so you can read the post for the answer to your question.
“Move Chiroux’s balls to one side so you can read the post for the answer to your question.”
Now that doesn’t seem fair. Did my comment really get you that worked up?
Geez, I came here to get more educated and the second I ask questions you feel the need to try and belittle me. By using elementary and sexist comments no less; now you look like you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Thats the last time I consult a blog to get extra dirt on people…might as well just stick to the news; them seem just as one-sided and uneducated as this bit.
“According to the letters he wrote”? Oh, ok, Matthis IS a hero, he saw everything he needed to see in 10 minutes? Your words, not mine. He admitted the rape to others, and he’s a fraud, read what his dad said. He’s an atheist, sponging off churches now, if he doesn’t acknowledge the existence of God, why would he go to a church?
And you believe him that his higher-ups purchased the prostitute? To use your own words, “How can we honestly take someone else’s word for what happened between Matthis and a prostitute”? So, how can we now take Matthis’ word on anything?
Yup, a Fourth Reich, right here. You’ve seen the storm troopers out marching in the streets, haven’t you?
Jonn, perhaps Mattie watched this video and became scared and confused:
You guys crack me up. Thanks for yet another laugh.
