Young leftists see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Zohran Mamdani as the Democratic Party’s future
Young Democratic voters see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Zohran Mamdani as the future of the Democratic Party. However, these young voters placed one condition on this desire. They want Ocasio-Cortez, and the Democratic Party in general, to advocate on behalf of Hamas and Gaza. They also want Democratic Party leaders to be more aligned with democratic socialism.

“I really like AOC,” Reihena Djema, an attendee from Ohio, told Fox News Digital. “Unfortunately, I would like to see her stand and be more vocal about Palestine. But other than that, I really think that she should be the leader of the Democratic Party as she is a Democratic socialist.”
Ocasio-Cortez made political waves when she welcomed Mamdani to the nation’s capital for a closed-door skill-sharing event with congressional Democrats on how to run a successful digital campaign. The self-described Democratic socialists may have been missing from Friday’s event, but their policies seeped into conversations at the summit.
“I think that more politicians should be adopting socialism,” Djema said. “I think it’s really important to be class-conscious, and remove ourselves from this neo-liberal idea of it’s okay to, like, do capitalism and exploit workers, and I think the Democratic Party should be the party for workers and look more towards socialism.”
Mamdani has been criticized by conservatives and moderates for his past anti-capitalist comments, including a years-old suggestion to seize the means of production.
And Ocasio-Cortez’s own progressive base, including the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), has criticized her for voting against an amendment proposed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to cut $500 million in funding for Israel’s defense systems, which the Democrat said “does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza.”
“If you’re saying I voted for military funding, you are lying,” Ocasio-Cortez fired back on X. And she had previously clarified, “I remain focused on cutting the flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide in Gaza.”

Pocahontas was at a campaign event with Zohran where she kept calling him “the mayor”. I know elections are mere formalities for Dems with results seldom respected but really?
He was saying he was going to hire 10,000 mental health workers to take all the mental health calls for the city (about 400,000 a year) and this would lift the burden from the police. This was hilarious because there are only around 7000 mental health workers in the city right now. He would have to hire all of them and find some more. Pocahontas thought it was a great idea.
This is exactly the stupid shit that Dems come up with that spends money and fixes nothing.
It doesn’t have to be fixed. You just have to feel good about what you do. It’s the progressive way.
Even if you aggravate the problem and make it worse, it’s all okay if you feel good about yourself afterwards!
Query: How does one feel good about one’s job when doing that “job” invariably results in failure?

If I was a city mental health worker, that responding to some nutcase with impulse control and threatening to kill his wife or some random strangers, yeah that is the kind of call for service I would want to address on a regular basis.

They keep adding more and more holidays and “breaks” to slow stretch school into being year-round (with a paycheck to match). School starts Aug 14th (Thursday) this year.
Fortunately for the near term future of our country, young democratic or democratic socialist voters are a minority. Let’s hope they stay that way. In the meantime, somebody quarantine Reihena Djema because she clearly has a virus of some sort. (To be quarantined through the 2028 elections.)

Don’t forget the Pilgrim Colony in Massachusetts. They too had everything in common, what today would be a socialist economy, in their first year or so. That’s why so many died of starvation in the first winter.
Some argue that capitalism didn’t exist before Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations. This was released in March, 1776. So there is no way it could have been read in the US before July, 1776.
