Fayetteville man arrested after shooting

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police say a man was arrested after he exchanged gunshots with another man Thursday night.

Manuel Navarro, 25, was arrested in connection with aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault and tampering with physical evidence, according to a news release.

A man at 1469 N. Timbercrest Ave. called police at 10:52 p.m. to report he shot a man who entered his home.

Officers were told Navarro went into the house because his girlfriend refused to come outside. Once inside, Navarro pulled a handgun from his waistband and he and the caller exchanged shots, according to the release.

Navarro was shot on the right side of his body and fled the area, according to the release. He arrived about 45 minutes later at Washington Regional Medical Center where he was arrested.

Platte County looking for escaped dogs

Emily Rittman
SMITHVILLE, MO (KCTV) — When we heard Platte County authorities were searching for six “wolf hybrids” that escaped a property near Smithville.

When the dogs first escaped, they were originally reported to the sheriff’s office as six wolf hybrids. Since then, the Missouri Department of Conservation tracked their lineage and found they are not wolf hybrids.

At last check, the two dogs are still roaming the area.

Many neighbors who live near State Route 92 and Hornback Road have pets and livestock, which they try to protect from predators.

One owner discovered one of the six escaped dogs on their property, though. “One of them ended up attacking some goats in the area and was killed by the property owner,” explained Major Erik Holland with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.

After that, and out of an abundance of caution, the sheriff’s office shared photos of the dogs on social media asking the community to report sightings of them.

We all love our pets, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Responsible ownership is a big part of that.

Hey Manuel, it was Guns of Navarone that had a completed mission, not gun of Navarro. You lost out on the Ms Thang Senorita(?) also.

With the dearth of phonies lately from MP we are getting Poser Puppies? Maybe they were hybrid Mooselems too, since one had an affinity for goat. The lying embellishing owner should be caged for not properly keeping those puppers in a safe place…and I don’t mean in a cage/crate or tied with a logging chain to a tree. Bastard! Sure was nothing doggish about the Ms Thang reporter, Emily Rittman…That is if you are into Sister Golden Haired Surprises with Green Eyes.

“….no legitimate use…” “…9mm…” Well said Chief. Get you at least a nice 40 cal Kahr, or that wheeled gun 44 mag pictured above…or for the purist at heart there is always the industry go to standard…the designs of the Most Saintly John Moses Browning (Howitzer be his name).

Have we gone down so far that now we have resorted to counting dead dogs???

I hear you brother, I’ll see if I can find a story to send your way?

Well, Mr. Police Superintendent guy, opinions are like a-holes, you keep yours to yourself and we’ll all be better for it.
Re dogs and farms, feral dogs sportkill animals so I don’t blame a farmer for defending their stock.
Some soccer ‘star’ is having herself a pity party over one of her dogs getting swacked. Damn shame that, but you lost your right to complain when it went into someone’s property.
I don’t ‘like it’ but them’s the rules.

Have to agree. I like most dogs, I have never owned one. My wife did not grow up around dogs, and has been chased by a few in the neighborhood, she passed that fear along to our oldest daughter (younger seems to not be afraid). For this reason alone I remind our neighbors of the laws of the State and County to keep them on a leash or behind a wall/fence. I just chase them back in their yards when I am around, but it becomes awkward when I am not available. A neighbor has a mixed pack of strays and when they get out they are not nice.

“One of them ended up attacking some goats in the area and was killed by the property owner,”

I recall an incident when I was in Scotland: a border collie killed a sheep and was put down. When I asked “why?” the farmer said that once a collie has tasted blood, it won’t quit the habit.
