Teen shot in the chest after dispute over blocked intersection near Lacey

BY ROLF BOONE
A 17-year-old male was shot in the chest Saturday night during a dispute over a blocked intersection near Lacey, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The 17-year-old was in stable condition at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia and is expected to survive, Lt. Ray Brady said Sunday.

About 9 p.m. Saturday, a 38-year-old man headed off to work, driving east on Third Way Southeast. Once he got to Dutterow Road Southeast, he pulled up behind a vehicle that was stopped at Third Way and Dutterow.

Those in the stopped vehicle, including the 17-year-old male, told the man to drive around them, but the 38-year-old man was uncomfortable driving into oncoming traffic, Brady said.

It was not immediately clear why the vehicle had stopped in the intersection, Brady said.

The parties began arguing, and the 17-year-old, plus at least two other people, approached the 38-year-old man’s vehicle and began acting aggressively toward him, Brady said.

Sacramento County homeowner shoots suspect who led officers on chase

A suspect who led law enforcement on a vehicle chase from Rocklin to Sacramento County on Monday was shot by a bystander after getting out of the vehicle and running from the scene, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was wanted in connection with attempting to rob Rocklin businesses over the weekend, Rocklin police said. The suspect smashed his car into a nail salon and a cell phone store on Commons Drive. Investigators said they did not find any items missing, so far.

On Monday, an officer in an unmarked Rocklin police car saw the suspect vehicle around 6:15 p.m. near Eureka Road and Interstate 80. A patrol unit responded to the scene and tried to pull over the suspect.

However, the suspect drove away, leading officers on a chase, police said.

The California Highway Patrol took over the chase, which entered Sacramento County.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said deputies then got involved, saying the suspect was seen, at one point, going westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near Watt Avenue.

The chase eventually ended in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento County when the suspect got out of the car and ran.

Columbia man charged with shooting into house

By Pat Pratt
A 38-year-old man faces numerous felony charges after allegedly shooting at a residence with people inside late Friday and trying to flee from police.

Boone County prosecutors on Saturday charged Donald Eugene Hammers with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, three counts of felony child endangerment and resisting arrest.

In an affidavit supporting charges against Hammers, Columbia police officer Joshua Popielarz wrote the incident happened about 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 5400 block of Baseline Place.

The victim told police Hammers knocked on the door and wanted to fight. She had a gun and he left, but fired several shots at her residence from the street. Three children were inside at the time. The victim fired back and then called 911.

Four-of-a-Kind, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, plus the usual Chicago weekend follies. Again, the two fellows in the wind will be dimed out by their homie as soon as the SA makes him a plea deal he won’t refuse.

“Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the second amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of the country. For that reason I believe the second amendment will always be important.” –JOHN F. KENNEDY

Love the Marlin lever guns. Super smooth action.
The author gives a hat tip to the .444 but is in
love with the 45-70. Excellent Moose gun.
Having taken a Moose with the .444 I was not
impressed but have witnessed the 45-70 take one.
The .444 is basically a 240 gr handgun bullet.
If you load up with 300gr hard cast then yeah but
the original RM44 ammo is for deer, not Moose.

The 336 in .35 Rem is also super smooth and is
an excellent deer gun. Very lightweight.

Get your applications in to the lottery by
14 May for the moose permit drawing in June.

Gotta love any cartridge whose normal bullet will start out with moderate recoil, low 1300 fps) velocity, and pass clean through a buffalo. You can also jack the velocity up 50% and be able to cleanly take any critter on the continent… not bad for a cartridge in use for close to a century and a half. 1873 was a VERY good year.

Marlin made a belted-magnum version of the .45-70, called the .450 Marlin. It is impressive.

.45-70 rounds fit the .450 gun, for added utility. The belt at the base of the .450 case prevents it from being chambered and fired in antiques and lesser-strength firearms.

I guess the folks aren’t heading the call to, “Y’all chill!”

“…why the vehicle was stopped…” Entitlement! Prolly the same reason used to smash a vehicle into store fronts and run from the popo. And to fire rounds into baby mama’s house. smh

The 2nd linky went to corona stories, no big deal. It’s not like you put the wings and motors on an aircraft wrong…or something.

Has the corona deaths caught up to the crime deaths in Chiraq yet?

Cool story on the 1895 Marlin. That .357/.38 lever action I made mention of in the Luger story the other day was a top eject. The ol’ boy that bought it off me wanted it for that reason. He was a lefty too.

😆 😆 😆 😆

Hell, that works, it’s other things that are broken…or MIA! Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my sanity most.

Good for her! Baby mamma had a gun, he was looking for a fight and ran away! Always good to be the first to call the PoPo.
