Robert Bastille
TALES FROM THE WEE HOURS: An interesting call…As you will hear, there were some tense moments this past weekend after an intoxicated male showed up at the back door of an off-duty Yarmouth cop shortly before 3AM. The young man was briefly detained before being transported back to a residence just several short blocks away. According to police sources on scene, it was a case of intoxication and picking the wrong house. But there were some very tense moments nonetheless…

One DOT and two inconvenienced, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Bat boy from yesterday is all over the interwebs today. Pity he didn’t make it.
The right of a citizen to bear arms, in lawful defense of himself or the State, is absolute. He does not derive it from the State government. It is one of the high powers” delegated directly to the citizen, and `is excepted out of the general powers of government.’ A law cannot be passed to infringe upon or impair it, because it is above the law, and independent of the lawmaking power.” [Cockrum v. State, 24 Tex. 394, at 401-402 (1859)]

I can just “hear” the attempted lawsuit;
“Yer Honor, he shot me in the leg. I want to sue”
“Son, if you hadn’t been where you shouldn’t have been, and if you had left when you were told to leave, you wouldn’t have been shot. Case dismissed, dumbass. With prejudice. Bailiff, remove this idiot from my courtroom.”
Nothing good happens after midnight and sometimes the only way she will be into you is when she gives you a lead injection. And we’re glad that Darwin was there to “bat” ol’ boy out of the stadium of life. (Apologies to Jeff)
“The right of a citizen to bear arms….is absolute….” Pretty much easy to understand, don’t you think?
That’s abat right 5th/77th FA.
P.S. Last night I slept under an oil truck so I could get up OILY in the morning to read the TAH comments.
(facepalm!)
So does that port on the slide do anything other than save weight? Asking for a friend.
*IF* you’re planning on getting something like this there’s one one way to do it, talk to your local gun store and see if they can order a fully customized pistol from a/the company.
If you are starting fresh, ie no frame to build one, it’s too expensive to buy a standard pistol and start sticking slides and barrels on/in.
This is all my opinion (take that for whatever that’s ‘worth’), based on my observation of friends’ struggles. Get a regular pistol and spend the difference on ammo!
The long ‘port’ is to cut weight from the long slide. Custom guns unfortunately can be like custom car mods – do them for you, because most likely you wind up upside down or even have an unsellable gun. Best to find something for sale with everything done right already, like the Desert Eagle 1911. Now if you really want to do it yourself, locate an out of print book by George Nonte called “Basic Gunsmithing”. Get a cheap used 1911, read the book, and have fun – you can learn to do many things yourself. ‘Way more fun.
I have Nonte’s Pistolsmithing book first published in 1974 and I have the 1982 edition. Had to go up to the storage cage for it. I should go upstairs again to see if I also have the one David mentioned. I think I bought my smithing books from Brownells.

I have always liked the wavy slide serrations on the M and P pistols.
That long slot and the arrow heads give the gun a very nice look.
The last thing I need is another pistol
But I want it!
“132 and Bush..I’ve got him at gunpoint”.
Bonus points for whoever can guess where that came from…
