Official says Belle Mina shooting was in self-defense

The fatal shooting of a man in Belle Mina around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday appears to be in self-defense, an official said.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Stephen Young said a resident in the 24000 block of Garrett Road came home to find an intruder inside the residence. Young said the alleged intruder then attacked the resident, who shot him.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West identified the shooting victim as 65-year-old David Lee Walton, also of Garrett Road. It was unclear Wednesday if the resident and alleged intruder knew each other.

More than half of the states in the United States have stand-your-ground laws that allow a person to fight rather than retreat from a threat. According to Alabama’s law, “a person who is justified … in using physical force, including deadly physical force, and who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and is in any place where he or she has the right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground.”

Tulsa police: Woman shoots at man during domestic dispute

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) – Police say a woman shot at her boyfriend Tuesday during a domestic dispute.

Police say the man, Edward Earl Davis, had a knife, and they’re viewing this as an act of self-defense.

Police said the woman reported that Davis had been threatening her via text messages for several days before he reportedly confronted her Tuesday afternoon in the courtyard of Sierra Pointe Apartments on South 107th East Avenue.

The woman reported that Davis rode up on a bicycle, threatened her and was holding a knife.

She reportedly fired several rounds in his direction, and police aren’t positive whether Davis was injured.

She’s also filed 11 reports of domestic violence involving Davis over the last year, according to police.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to N & H Market at 1230 Pearl St. for a report of an armed robbery just before 6 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, three armed men entered the market and demanded money from a clerk. Officials said at least one store employee exhanged gunfire with the three suspects, striking and killing one of them.

The man’s body was found lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other suspects fled from the scene. It’s unclear if the two others were struck by gunfire.

The investigation is ongoing.

Not a real good idea to break into someone’s home in Aladambamy. Very good chance that homeowners have one of them thar Bay-rettas and will inject you with about 9mm of lead medicine. And btw, Walton would be a perp, not a victim.

Nothing like riding your bicycle to a gunfight while carrying a knife. Ms Thang shoulda fired several rounds INTO his sorry azz.

One less dirt bag in commiefornia and several looking for a new line of work. Good!

Gradually coming out of my food coma. I think some of that ham on a sourdough wanna be cat head is calling me.

And I read where Biden publibly lumped 9mms in with ‘assault rifles’ which need to be banned. Apparently in the middle of his BS he even mentioned magazines which hold 100 clips.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight. You can’t cycle a knife like you can cycle a gun even if you are on a byCYCLE.
