First Ever Medal of Honor Video Recording
In an article by the American Military News, they write about Air Force Tech. Sgt. John A. Chapman, a combat controller, who was killed during a fierce battle against al Qaida fighters in Takur Ghar, Afghanistan, March 4, 2002. According to the video’s narration, Chapman would eventually be awarded two Medal of Honors for his actions.
In the following narrated video, it shows all that happened that day. The first ever video recorded of events surrounding a Medal of Honor. Extremely compelling.
A book is being written about Chapman’s heroics and the book has already been optioned for a feature film.

Absolutely unbelievable WOW!!!
Two? TWO?!?!
Makes sense.
One for each of his balls.
Holy crap.
Though deserving of two, he only received one MoH. Which was delayed 16 years. He was initially only awarded the Air Force Cross.
He’s also been posthumously promoted to MSgt.
Daaaayyuuuum. Did MSgt John A. Chapman’s gene pool include York, Murphey, Marvin, Puller, Eastwood, Plumley, and Wayne? Didn’t we have a write up on him awhile back? Was upgrading his AFC the only decent thing that Ash Carter did, or was he just SecDef when the upgrade paperwork came thru and Carter just took credit?
Either way, a true Hero! “…no greater love…”
Hey Krapadick, this, again, is what real Sacrifice looks like. ESAD mofo
BBB.
Two MOH? I thought another person received an MOH for his actions that day but I didn’t know Chapman got two. Is it possible to get more MOH for the same event? I have heard of men getting two for separate but never for the same.

It was two separate acts of heroism in two different firefights on two separate engagements, but in the same location. I say he deserves two.
Senior Chief Britt Slabinski US Navy SEAL received the MOH for actions same day same area. Not sure of 2 MOH is accurate for TSgt Chapman. He initially received the Air Force Cross as did Senior Airman Jason Cunningham USAF Pararescue. Might be some confusion. I was based at Bagram Jan-Jun 2002 as Crash Fire Rescue/EMT USAF.
TSgt B Martens USAF RET
I was at Bagram at the same period, way back when it was tiny.
A more simple time, sweet nostalgia
Difficult to watch but neccessary to understand how the situation unfolded.
There is a small town in Maine named Chapman.
It is a beautiful area and a favorite place to visit with good friends. He will be remembered.
