District Attorney General not filing charges against stabbing victim who shot, killed Memphis man
MEMPHIS, Tenn – The man who shot and killed another man in a Memphis neighborhood will not be facing charges in connection with the incident, according to officials.
The incident happened on March 17 in the 7100 block of Peppermill Lane.
Deputies said Jamarquis Hamilton, 29, was shot and killed by another man after Hamilton stabbed him.
Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other man – who was not identified – was taken to the hospital and survived his injuries.
The DA’s office said they declined to file charges against the man because they determined that his actions were in self-defense.

Man turns the tables on pair of crooks trying to invade his home
By Parker Branton
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A South Florida man turned the tables on a pair of crooks early Thursday morning after they tried to storm into his home in northwest Miami-Dade.“I felt like if I was to die right there, they would kill my grandmother and great-grandmother, Lord forbid — God forbid,” Pherrick Thomas said.
Thomas told Local 10 News that someone knocked on his back door at 2 a.m. Thursday.
He said he opened the door to find a woman he knew standing there, Georicka Mathes, 23. Soon after, he was greeted with a gun by another man, later identfied by police as Marquan Humphrey, 26.
“We were talking for a second, because it’s 2 in the morning, I’m trying to catch up, and the next thing you know a man with a rifle ran up talking about, ‘Give me everything,'” Thomas said.
A struggle unfolded at the home on Northwest 85th Street, where Thomas lives with his grandmother and great-grandmother.
The two elderly women tried to defend themselves from the man and woman invading their home.
Thomas said his grandmother fought back with a brick while he took the man’s gun.
“I turned the rifle around just in time,” he said. “I had enough strength from seeing them hit my grandmother to actually shoot the man.”
Thomas said an officer patrolling around the corner heard the shots and responded immediately.

A 1 / 2 / 1 sort of day, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. One achieving room temperature, two doing the perp walk to the local slam, and one in the wind without weapons or waffles. Glad to see Memphis is back, and nothing adds to a story like a Waffle House.

First!
Above in photo is my favorite second weapon. S&W Model 10 (aka Military & Police Model).
This weapon was choise issue for pilots for decades.
I have one of those, it is marked as an Airweight. Nice little carry piece.
Looks like a Model 36 Chiefs Special to me. My wife carries mine all of the time. Of all the guns I’ve bought her that old timer is her favorite.
Agreed, the 10 is a K frame and this looks to be the J frame. Nice little gun.
We have a winner! S&W Model 36 5 shot .38 Special.
The photo was labeled as such.
This time…
I will stand corrected.
MCPO NYC; My first issue when I started working back in 1970 was the S&W Mod.10 .38 4 in. bull barrel. Used it until 9/11 and then Brink’s started to issue S&W 4046 .40 semi autos. After I retired in 2007, they went to a different model M&P. My gun club wheel gun was a S&W Mod. 14 .38 6in. barrel with a Bomar rib and Bomar rear and front sights added on by a Gun Smith in Kennelworth, NJ. Also used a High standard Victor mod. in .22 for the rim fire Police El matches.
In Florida, bricks hit you.
Go Granny! She must be related the Clampetts.
“How’d you get caught?”
“Granny beat me with a brick.”
(Conversation overheard between the new fish and the groom)
“…Maybe it was Memphis…” Whizz Wheel score on Jamarquis? More attempted minority on minority crime? Memphis seems to be trying to catch up to Chiraqistango? One less parasite on society, too bad the one in the hospital didn’t bleed out or catch a nice staph infection.
“Go past the Waffle House on the right and turn left at the Big Chicken.”…..Oh wait this was NOLA….”Go past the Waffle House on the left and turn right where the Confederate Statue used to be.” At Waffle House you can have your weapon taken away from you 293,000 ways.
Miami: Another nice total score on the Whizz Wheel there too. Prolly more to it than we’re seeing. Good on Granny tho. Bring every weapon to bear upon the threat axis.
Nice little wheel gun. Got…errr, had his cousin Taurus as a backup on the Ms Thang side of the bed night stand….Well you know…till the tornado blew them all away.
See ya at the Clubhouse Outcast…We’ll have the scrambled eggs cheese plate, hashbrown scattered, covered, smothered, and chunked, side of cheese grits, country ham, and wheat toast.
I’d like to see the Whiz Wheel®™ score on Marquan and Georicka as well!
TAH Name Scrabble®™ (Home Version) Whiz Wheel scores:
Jamarquis Hamilton (DRT) 40 x 3 = 120
Georicka Mathes (???) 26
Marquan Humphrey (WRT) 39 x 2 = 78
Need a retell on the Fla story. People involved;
Victim
Victim’s g’mother
Victim’s g’g’mother
Perp woman
Perp man w/ gun (pistol?)
Perp man w/ rifle
From clickee linkie and reading the story, final tally; 0/2/1; two perforated and in custody, one in the wind.
Which would make today’s score 1/2/2. One doing a Bernathian final rest; two bodily damaged and in custody; two in the wind (one Waffle House, one FL).
Not sure how that would change today’s odds and payout.
Speaking of feel good stories and guns:

Never make it past the avtivist 9th, sadly.
Trump has been updating that court. Might get interesting.
Wait for Democrat howls to break it up.
Am running a little late here ( have o stay out of others way as is day off and cleaning day in the basement), but I digress. Missed the clubhouse meet as guard was posted at top of stairs to cellar, WTH, 1/2/1 not bad for a slow day but will try to sneak out and pick up pot. 6/15/2 for week and looks like if we keep losing them to the still running column it is going to take a long time for the DRT column as to last week of 10/10/58, wonder what the pot is going to be when we get back into the winning column. Well it shows that gun still beats knife despite possible bar city time until cleared. Wow a black revolver with brown plates and was taken away from perp. Pretty well tells me it wasn’t one of those shiny ones some seem to prefer, obviously reporter is not a gun type, surprised he didn’t say had big barrel hole. In the wind, next time will probably show up here again with new hole in body. What part of Florida story does make sense here, ex at door at 2am, would seem like sensors would go off with NO or OH HELL NO. Lives with Grandmother and Great Grandmother, starting to look like a trend here that we see going on, someone get his name as looks like a S/V candidate in the wings. Grandma using brick to defend self, gotta watch some of these old ones as they have some big brass knockers when faced with trouble. Sudden Adrenalin rush when seeing grandma getting hit, kind of a slow boy here as would think Adrenalin would have kicked in when rifle showed up. Oh well was good ending. Bubba waiting to hear new fish story.
Georicka and Marquan…what could go wrong?
