Sheriff: Jasper County boy fired gunshots into ground to protect mother
By Gary Bass

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – A Jasper County boy fired several gunshots into the ground in an effort to protect his mother as she was being assaulted by her boyfriend, according to Sheriff Mitchel Newman.

The incident occurred at a home on County Road 298, which is also known as Garland Smith Road, around noon Monday.

Newman said that his deputies responded to a report of a disturbance with shots fire.

When JCSO deputies got to the scene, they learned that the boyfriend, who was later identified as Kenneth Brown, had the boy’s mother by the collar and was “throwing her around,” Newman said.

The sheriff said the boy told Brown to quit messing with his mother and fired several gunshots into the ground in an effort to protect her.

No charges will be filed against the boy, Newman said.

The boyfriend, not so much. Read the entire article here: KTR E.com

Wonder if Deschion’s street name was, “Hound?”
JSO: Suspected robber shot by employee at MetroPCS
By Corley Peel

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A suspected robber was shot by an employee at a MetroPCS in Arlington on Saturday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The robbery was reported about 8 p.m. at the store on Merrill Road at Cesery Boulevard.

According to the police report, Deschion Baskerville went into the MetroPCS, pulled a gun on a female clerk and demanded money, threatening to kill her. She handed over some money, then ran into the office and told a co-worker what was happening.

The co-worker then came out and shot Baskerville, police said.

Baskerville, 28, was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He is charged with robbery, according to the incident report.

No employees or customers in the business were injured, police said. Workers at the MetroPCS store did not wish to make a comment.

Car change worth getting shot over? Seems so, at least to Mr. Lee.
Pastor injured, man charged after shootout at north Shelby County home
by Symone Woolridge,

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A pastor was critically injured in a shootout at his home after he caught a man allegedly breaking into his car and took matters into his own hands.

Shelby County authorities say it happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 6100 block of Covington Pike off Austin Peay Highway.

Neighbors say the suspect, Jonathan Lee, was going house to house in the normally quiet neighborhood in north Shelby County, checking vehicle doors looking for change.

But when he got to one house, he was confronted by the homeowner, Brett Frans.

The two men exchanged gunfire, and both were injured.

Lee is out of the hospital and in jail, charged with several felonies, including attempted second-degree murder.

Today’s score, 0 / 3 / 0 for zero morts, three hospitalized or otherwise inconvenienced, and none in the wind. A trifecta to be sure, but not a TAH trifecta.

Not a TAH trifecta.
Too bad. Can’t get lucky every day. Be patient.

Deplorable B Woodman

The Jasper County boy is young, he hasn’t been properly taught yet. Hopefully there is a man in the neighborhood that will take this son under his wing. Not sure that any of mom’s poor selections are worthy.

Besides, if the boyfriend had mom by the collar and was swinging her around, two moving targets, the son might have hit mom instead. So there is some wisdom in what the son did.

Agreed, DBW. Also doesn’t mention the young mans age, or weapon discharged. (12 ga. would be extremely dangerous in this scenario)He didn’t hit his mom on accident, and stopped the attack with a “Not screwing around with you!” attitude. Dirt-bag deserved a dirt-nap, but mom and son are unharmed, and dirt-bag was arrested (although a $2500 bail seems quit low). I’ll give the give the kid props and recommend additional range time and additional training. But yea. He pulled it off. Feel Good Story for sure. Out here…

The boy may have done the smart thing, but Mama needs to get schooled. Ladies, you don’t have to put up with dirtbags. Not only a danger to yourself, this is an occasion where the “what about the children” really means something. Notice the Sheriff said “we’ve made several trips out there.”

Range time for everyone else. We got a dindu in J.Ville that will continue to be a parasitic drain on society and a blind Tennessee preacher.

Where was Baskerville’s Hound during the attempted robbery.

Ex-PH2

Pastor may be blind because that jackass just had to try a potshot at him.

I think the pastor’s neighbors have the right idea: “If he comes back, he’ll be a dead man.”

They don’t mention how young the “boy” is, but the way I look at it, I’m glad he didn’t have to deal with taking a life and living with that for so many years.

It’s good that he stood up to protect his mom, but no child should have to make the decision to have to kill someone, let alone fire warning shots before they are an adult, then live with that memory for their formative years.

I doubt Deschion Baskerville’s street name was “Hound.” To get that name, one would have to display some literary talent, like knowing how to read and making the connection to Deschion’s last name. I doubt that level exists among his cohorts.
