Illinois police officer’s screams caught on camera during struggle with fugitive

An Illinois police officer’s screams for help during a life-and-death struggle with a man wanted on a murder warrant before she fatally shot him were captured in dramatic videos released on Monday.The Lake County State’s Attorney released the dashcam and body camera videos from the July 26 encounter between Lakemoor officer Brianna Tedesco and Kenneth Martell, who was asleep in a parked car in suburban Chicago.
In the video, Martell tells Tedesco his name is “James Dunkin,” but the officer tells him a search was unable to find a driver’s license record for anyone matching that name
“I just have to make sure you don’t have any warrants or anything… which I’m sure you don’t,” she could be heard saying. “Once I confirm that, you’ll be on your way, no big deal.”
Martell, who was wanted on a murder warrant for a fatal shooting in Pennsylvania, hands Tedesco a piece of paper then grabs a handgun and aims it at the officer.
The trigger didn’t fire, and they struggled over the gun for about 20 seconds as Tedesco screamed for help.

Police: Employee kills robbery suspect in jewelry store shootout

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Police said a suspect was killed and an employee was injured after an attempted robbery turned into a shootout in the central Las Vegas Valley.At 5 p.m. Saturday, two suspects went into the John Fish Jewelers store in Commercial Center near Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway, said Las Vegas Metro homicide Lt. Ray Spencer.
The suspects attempted to tie up a customer and multiple employees to conduct a robbery. An employee in the back room, who Spencer said was carrying a legal concealed gun, came out and engaged with at least one suspect.
Multiple rounds were exchanged between the employee and the suspect. The employee was shot multiple times, but shot and killed one suspect during the exchange.

HCSO investigating after man shot at robbery suspects in west Harris Co.

KATY, Texas (KTRK) —
An attempted robbery turned into a shootout between a pair of suspects and a husband protecting his wife, according to The Harris County Sheriff’s Office.The attempted armed robbery happened around 2:30 p.m in a busy parking lot of a Randall’s store on Fry Road.
Detectives believe the suspects were “juggers*,” who followed the couple from a bank across the street.
The couple went grocery shopping and were about to load the groceries in their SUV when a black Cadillac SUV pulled into a parking space in front of them.
An investigator said one man pulled out a gun and demanded the woman’s purse.
Her husband was on the other side of the car, and pulled out his weapon. Moments later, shots were exchanged. The husband fired four rounds, hitting both men, according to deputies.
The suspects got into the getaway car and pulled onto Fry Road, where the vehicle crashed out, leaving two men to run off on foot.

“Juggers” are criminals who sit in vehicles in or near bank parking lots, looking for possible victims who carry paper bags, briefcases, satchels or the like, then rob them at a secondary site. Hat tip the the Urban Dictionary for the definition.

Any time some one here thinks we have dumbass posters or trolls, need to duck into some of the news feed comments. Pitiful, plum pitiful. Buncha idiots there. Officer was lucky her backup was close by and the perp’s weapon didn’t discharge. Don’t know if the officer just freaked out, or didn’t have enough training and situational awareness. Coulda went the other way.
Las Vegas, a little safer for trade and commerce now. Wishing the employee and wounded customer a speedy recovery. Maybe the second perp caught a round and bled out in an alley somewhere. We can only hope.
Texas. “Jugger” hadn’t heard that term. Would refer to that type as parasites on society. Too bad the dirtbag didn’t bleed out before the EMTs patched his junky ass up. Some SOB pull a piece on me or mine in the grocery store parking lot, there won’t be “moments later” when gunfire would break out. Husband did good though, four shots and hit both of them. Gun control means hitting your target.

The two “professionals” in Katy, TX seemed to have planned everything just right…except victim selection. Deflating the tire, wait for them to have arms full of groceries, even husband and wife on opposite sides of the car. Then someone has to allow the victim the ability to defend themselves, and all their planning goes to shit. The indigent was lucky the husband wasn’t a better shot! (or was that the bullet deflection going through the window?)
Too bad AW, I was hoping for a trifecta, but the last two perps did a runner.
