“Groups” want special prosecutor for Bush investigation
Like a dog with a bone, the mainstream Left, is still clinging to the Bush impeachment imprisonment farce. The call went out yesterday from that centrist organization After Downing Street for AG Eric Holder to name a Special Prosecutor for the perfectly reasonable investigation;
We urge Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a non-partisan independent Special Counsel to immediately commence a prosecutorial [sic] investigation into the most serious alleged crimes of former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Richard B. Cheney, the attorneys formerly employed by the Department of Justice whose memos sought to justify torture, and other former top officials of the Bush Administration.
Our laws, and treaties that under Article VI of our Constitution are the supreme law of the land, require the prosecution of crimes that strong evidence suggests these individuals have committed. Both the former president and the former vice president have confessed to authorizing a torture procedure that is illegal under our law and treaty obligations. The former president has confessed to violating the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
We see no need for these prosecutions to be extraordinarily lengthy or costly, and no need to wait for the recommendations of a panel or “truth” commission when substantial evidence of the crimes is already in the public domain. We believe the most effective investigation can be conducted by a prosecutor, and we believe such an investigation should begin immediately.

All of the usual suspects. What the Hell is “Justice Through Music”? And what dog does Naomi Wolf have in this fight? But it’s really wonderful that IVAW and VFP are still clinging to that ridiculous issue like Grim Death. I remember that the Right wanted to pursue Clinton when he left office, but Bush made it clear that it wouldn’t happen and the Right just dropped it. But then we didn’t have countless organization which had impeachment as the the centerpiece of their fund raising efforts.

It’s seems likely that, whatever the Obama DOJ does, there will be some sort of international tribunal involved sooner or later.
There’s a non-trivial contention that Article VI intends that: and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land;. This issue HAS been raised often by the liberal/left in the context of the Geneva Convention, for instance.

I am amused that when socialists,communists and other shades of democrats, make mention of the Consitution, they select only a line which they feel is useful to their agenda.
But somehow, they never seem to note that there is a Second Amendment which a lot of us take very seriously. To those who think that some kind of democrat-led inclination to a global governance, this might be a pleasant caveat.

Can’t say I find it amusing. In fact, subverting The Constitution is down right scary.
Tout democracy, and when that doesn’t work find a judge, etc. It’s the ‘death of a thousand cuts’ with Saul Alinksy wielding the blades.

Are any of them out to put Clinton on trial? We intervened in the Balkans despite the fact that the Serbs posed no threat to us whatsoever.
I think an investigation would be a good thing. The Republicans can say it should start with Bill Clinton. Remember him bombing the aspirin factory to take the news away From Monica? You can’t investigate one ex president without investigating the other.
During Clinton’s time 80% of the pilots who came up for reenlistment refused to rejoin. That says a lot about a Commander And Chief!!!
I don’t think it would take a long investigation and trial to shoot thousands of democrats as traitors. All we need is for someone to start it, of course 99% of them would get off with an insanity defense. If O’Dumbo don’t shut up he’ll finish off the economy and it won’t be fun watching the liberals in the cities die by the millions of starvation, or maybe it will be fun. I’ve seen more home gardens plowed already (a month early) than are usually plowed by planting season. Just remember, a country boy will survive and we don’t care a lot for liberal aholes. As a volunteer fire/rescue worker for 15 years (quit the day O’Dumbo took office) I’d sit and watch any ahole with an O’Dumbo sticker on their vehicle bleed to death before i’d waste a dressing and bandage on them.
