From St Louis, Missouri;

St. Louis Police said a homeowner shot a suspected burglar in the leg overnight in South St. Louis.

It happened on Iowa just north of Arsenal and Gravois. Police said the homeowner heard an alarm in his garage about 2:45 a.m. Thursday.

The homeowner and burglar got into a struggle, before police said the homeowner shot the suspect.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The homeowner is cooperating with police.

From Robeson County, North Carolina;

According to a press release from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement was called to the Oakridge Grocery and Fish Market on Wiregrass Road in the Orrum area for a report of an armed robbery on Monday afternoon.

When deputies arrived, they received a vehicle and suspect description. The car, a 1990 Buick, was found on Interstate 95 South at the six-mile marker with two suspects inside, the release stated. One had been shot.

Deputies charged 25-year-old Gregory Eugene Davis, of Fairmont, N.C., with felony counts of robbery with a firearm or other weapon; simple assault and battery; possession of a firearm by a felon; kidnapping; and conspiracy.

Davis remains in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $1 million bond, according to the press release.

The second suspect, and gunshot victim, is 24-year-old Daniel Wilson Bethea, of Richland County, SC. He faces felony charges of armed robbery; conspiracy to commit robbery; assault by pointing a gun; kidnapping; and conspiracy.

“Wiregrass Road”

When I first worked in LA the median strips were adorned with pretty flowers in pots.
It took a while but I eventually learned they were plastic covered wires.
Reminded me of Jefferson Airplane’s “Plastic Fantastic Lover”

They were driving a Buick as a robbery getaway car?

That is SOOOOO not cool! They couldn’t find a Chevy or a Toyota, huh? Or a Prius?

Seriously, I’m waiting for a couple of these mindless twits to steal a Tesla, which is powered with Li ion batteries, crash it somehow, and try to scramble out of it when it explodes and burns until the lithium no longer leaks.

CCO

A twenty-eight year old Buick at that; I guess armed robbery isn’t a very lucrative career.

(And lithium is a solid so it won’t leak; the wreck just shorts out the battery cells, I guess, when they get bent all up.)

Ex-PH2

Yes, but it’s a self-sustaining chemical fire that burns out of control and is literally impossible to extinguish. And a wrecked Tesla with the battery (under the body, always) reignited while it was in storage.

Those things are nasty, nasty, nasty.

I read more accounts of “shot in the leg”.
Q: left leg, right leg, or third leg?

Inquiring minds, and all that.

No way Davis is guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Gun control prevents that sort of thing. How gullible do they think we are?
