HMC Ret sends us a link from Charlotte, North Carolina;

Just minutes earlier, authorities say the owner, Sarah Shoe, told 911 she had already been forced to pull a gun on the man attacking her boyfriend once. Prosecutors say that man, DeShawn Tatem, returned about a minute and a half later.

“You said he’s back ?” the dispatcher asks.

“Yeah, he’s out their screaming. If he comes in I’m shooting him,” the woman says on the 911 call.

According to the 911 call, the dispute between people at neighboring storefronts appeared to be over a water bill. All of it happened, while Shoe’s grandchildren were inside the store at the time.

Authorities say after assaulting Shoe’s boyfriend, Tatem moved toward her and her grandchildren. That’s when she fired one shot killing him. After the shooting, the dispatcher confirmed who she shot.

“Is it the same guy that came in the first time?” the dispatcher asks.

“Yes, it’s the same guy that came in and attacked my boyfriend,” says the woman on the 911 tape.

The district attorney has now ruled it self-defense, after reviewing several pieces of evidence including witness statements, physical evidence, and the 911 call.

AW1Ed sends a link from Tampa, Florida;

The owner of City Pawn is not facing any charges after Tampa police said he shot and killed a man inside his store in self defense.

Arthur Divi, 41, opened fire just before 2pm Thursday afternoon at his store located at 3901 E. Hillsborough Ave.

After the shooting, Divi went over to Olin Mott Tire and told an employee there what happened.

Cody Keene says he’s known Divi for 15 years and felt terrible that he had to pull the trigger.

Eric Jerome Norton was pronounced dead a the scene.

“I guess he turned is back on the guy and he decided to stop doing business with him and when he turned his back on him he heard the guy put his hands on the counter and come over the counter, and when he turned around and had two guns pulled on him,” Keene said. In the heat of the moment he just drew down on him, and he got the first shot off.”

From Bowling Green, Ohio;

Bowling Green Police Lt. Brad Biller said this morning that at 1:05 a.m. a resident of the 100 block of Liberty Street reported he had “engaged with gunfire” two people that had broken into his house.

By the time officers arrived at the scene, the two individuals had fled.

Biller said one of the men was found in the vicinity of Main and Evers streets. He had sustained a “through-and-through” gunshot wound to one arm, and another bullet was lodged in the same arm. He also had another bullet embedded in his lower back. The man, who was not identified because he has not yet been charged, was treated by Bowling Green Fire/EMS at the scene and was transported to a Toledo hospital.

Biller said that his wounds were not life threatening. The homeowner used a 9 mm handgun, he said.

As of approximately 7 a.m. Biller said that the homeowner had not given police a complete statement. However, he had indicated that the two people did gain entry to his residence, and that one of them was threatening him when he shot them. Biller said that to his knowledge, the homeowner has not indicated whether they had any weapons on them. He also said that they do not presently know if the individuals took anything from the home.

From Port Arthur, Texas;

The suspect has not been named nor has his age or hometown been released. However, police said he reportedly forced his way into a home around 10:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of 10th Street.

The suspect was said to be carrying a short-barreled rifle and demanded money from the occupants, according to information from the Port Arthur Police Department.

One of the occupants of the home retrieved a handgun and shot the suspect multiple times. He was initially brought to Christus St. Mary Hospital, then later transferred to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he underwent surgery.

Wow! Some good shooting among these. Several nigh onto perfect responses to very real threats.

It’s especially nice that one of the bad guys made a return visit, giving the victims time to get 911 on the phone to listen to his final few minutes.

A couple of good DOTs/DRTs today.

And the world is a more peaceful place…….now.

The homeowner in Bowling Green is about to start up the worn out argument of 9mm vs. _____. The real argument should be about ball ammo vs. self defense ammo.

Good shooting.

Egggxactly!

I have a 9mm Glock. I use what I call “super hollow-points”; hollow point, sub-sonic. I learned when I was on active duty using a Sig P226 & MP5 K model, the damage a “super hollow point”, in the sub-sonic variety, will do.

Google DeShawn Tatem – he was one twisted dude. Dubbed himself “general”, led some weird religious group. Force your way into an old lady’s store, attack her boyfriend, and dare her to shoot you, God ain’t gonna protect you.

STSC(SW/SS)

There was an old lady by the name of Shoe
when attack by Tatem she knew what to do
When Tatem advance and thought he had won
Shoe had shot him with a concealed carry gun.

Well Done Sir Poe’t.

If she just would have “shoed” him away, the guy would still be alive and that’s no jive, five foot five and man alive. Know what I mean Jellybean.
