From San Antonio, Texas;

One man has been hospitalized and another questioned following a shooting early Tuesday on the city’s North Side, San Antonio police said.

According to police, just before 3 a.m. a man was shot while trying to break into a Chevy Suburban in the parking lot of the Veranda Apartments located on Jones Maltsberger Road near Sandalwood Road.

The owner of the vehicle shot the suspect one time hitting him in the lower back, police said. The suspect then drove his own car to a Walmart located nearby.

Paramedics were called and took the man shot to an area hospital. The vehicle owner was taken to police headquarters for questioning.

From Las Vegas, Nevada;

Metro Police said Martin Maycock called 9-1-1 dispatch to report that he had shot an unknown man who was attempting to steal items from the storage facility he managed. Maycock said he was conducting a routine perimeter check at the “Storage at Summerlin” when everything unfolded.

The facility is located at 7441 W. Lake Mead Boulevard. The man shot and killed has been identified as Jeffrey Paget.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Paget seated in the driver’s seat of an unregistered white cargo van. Paget was suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. Paget was taken to UMC where he died from his injuries.

According to the report, Maycock who had recently obtained a Concealed Weapon Permit, was walking toward his vehicle when he heard a loud bang. When Maycock went to check it out, he said he noticed a man, later identified as Paget, trying to break into a motorhome, police said.

The report said, Maycock asked Paget what he was doing, and noticed he had a screwdriver in his hand. Paget told Maycock it was his friend’s motorhome and told him to mind his own business before jumping back into the van, but Maycock pulled out his gun and fired a shot in his direction.

From Clarksville, Tennessee;

According to information from police, it all started on November 28th when the owner of Finch’s Market off Highway 70 received an alert his store’s alarm was activated.

The owner told police he grabbed his revolver and drove to the store. Upon arrival, he says he noticed a mini-van parked on the shoulder of Highway 70 and the front doors to his business broken.

The owner waited outside and observed a short Hispanic man exiting with a white plastic bag in hand carrying unknown merchandise. The owner told police he pointed the revolver at the man and told him to stop. The man continued to run to the minivan where he jumped inside and told the driver, identified as Phillip Noe, to “go go go,” according to the report.

The owner stated he held on to the van and was being dragged when he fired a shot in an attempt to stop Noe. The owner eventually let go and sustained road rash due to the incident.

Clarksville Police say they went to Nashville after gathering information for a “chance search” for the vehicle. After finding a vehicle “oddly parked,” investigators looked inside and found Noe in the back seat “internally bleeding and slowly dying from the inflicted gunshot wound.”

The investigators provided Noe assistance and helped save “his dying body,” according to a description of the event.

Noe did not give up his co-conspirator but has been charged with especially aggravated burglary and theft under $1,000.
