Master Sergeant Hector Trujillo saving the world
San Diego News 8 reports that Marine Master Sergeant Hector Trujillo stopped on his way to work when he came upon the scene of an accident in Okinawa, Japan and pushed a Japanese man to safety just before he himself was struck by another motorist.
Master Sgt. Trujillo has served for more than 20 years and is currently in a hospital bed at Naval Medical Center in a medically induced coma.
Trujillo’s best friend, Jason Texeira, said it was Trujillo’s selfless nature is what that landed him in the hospital.
Last Friday, the father of three and who is currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan, witnessed a crash on an expressway and stopped to help. As he pushed a local man out of harm’s way, a car hit him.
Trujillo suffered a skull fracture as well as spinal injuries. He was flown from Japan to San Diego over the weekend.
It looks like a number of Japanese folks have contribute to his family’s GoFundMe page, I guess some folks appreciate the Marines on Okinawa.

Speedy and full recovery, Marine.
Prayers up for a speedy and full recovery.
Godspeed Master Sergeant. Well done. Damned well done Sir.
May this valiant young man have a full and speedy recovery, with no complications.
Are you sure this guy is the real deal? No do-rag, no motorcycle, no dog, no tattoo, no mustache, in proper uniform with everything on his rack correct.
On a more serious note, anyone want to wager the locals are not going to demonstrate for his speedy recovery or send flowers.
Our prayers are for a full and speedy recovery.
The locals are demonstrating with their pocketbooks instead. Please check the gofundme page for this brave Marine.
Semper Fi
CM,
there are good folks there who do appreciate what this Marine sacrificed. Read Jonn’s last sentence in the post.
They are demonstrating. With their pocketbooks.
Unlike the snowflakes who get paid by Soros to demonstrate.
Roger that, thanks to both who replied. Funny thing is I don’t recall Okie traffic as being that bad but Japan was scary.
Oki traffic is generally slower than in the US but mostly due to the smaller, more winding roads. That could have been the issue; someone coming around a blind curve. Some of the other main drags get very busy as well (although that would not make for very high speeds, of course). It doesn’t take a car moving very fast to do a lot of damage, however.
Oki from 12-16
Prayers out!
And the driver that hit him? Did he stop, or was it a hit-and-run?
Ditto on prayers out for a full and speedy recovery.

Prayers….and mad respect.
Praying for his complete recovery and restoration. Semper Fi, Marine!
I pray for a speedy and complete recovery. Unfortunately, it sounds like it will be a long haul.
Thank you for your service MSgt. That act is the kind of thing that people over there see and build up good credit for the Marines and other service members out there. There are locals that see the good in our being there. Things like this go a long way in maintaining good relations and building inroads.
