Thursday morning feel good stories

| October 19, 2017

From Delaware County, Oklahoma;

The homeowners said they heard an unusual noise in the garage, and when they went to investigate, they found an air conditioner had been removed from the garage window.

One of the homeowners retrieved his .38-caliber revolver and shot the intruder after officials said intruder got between the male homeowner and his wife.

The male homeowner shot the intruder, who was identified as Dallas Luper, 21. Luper was struck below an eye and in his right shoulder.

Officials said Luper was the step-grandson of the homeowners. The homeowners said they couldn’t tell who the intruder was, because he had a hoodie pulled tight over his face.

Luper was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

From Arlington, Texas;

The killing of a 25-year-old Arlington man outside a bar off I-30 on Sunday stemmed from an altercation and shooting earlier at another spot down the road, the bar manager said Tuesday.

Danquwan Thompson was shot in the parking lot of Speed’s Billiards about 1 a.m. by an armed security guard after Thompson pointed a gun at him, said manager Ryan Snyder. Another man was injured.

Danquwan……

I can’t wait for today’s scrabble game.

1610desig

And with his passing, human evolution lurches forward

Mick

Danquwan

— sigh —

Where’s Claw?

Wilted Willy

More range time people, more range time!!

Doc Savage

Hmmmm……From Claws Scrabble TAH Home Edition

Danquwan Thompson = 36 x(DOT) 3 = 108

Claw

Well, I see I’m not needed around here anymore. –Sniffle, Whine, kicks can down road. —

Nah, I’m just kidding. Good Job, Doc. I see that adding your name to my S-4 shop’s DA Form 1687 has produced the results I was looking for.

Who says Medics can’t be crosstrained to write legibly onto something other than your shot record?

Doc Savage

I owe it all to you Claw; If I hadn’t been issued the appropriate snivel gear for Pinion Canyon all those years ago, I would have lost my remaining brain cell to frost bite….I might have ended up serving tables at Puss n Boots.

Claw

Ah, PCMS (Pinon Canyon), I remember it well. Went down there for the inaugural rotation in August of 85.

I remember 1SG Peterson from C Co and 1SG Wendeler(Winkler?) from CSC coming over to the HHC/Field Mess area looking for 1SG Pelkey and/or the Mess Sergeant (hoping to score a couple of cans of coffee grounds) looking like Pig-Pen from Charlie Brown, what with being caked in mud/dust from head to toe. Both of them were saying “I wish the Hell they had told us that Graf and Hohenfels had been shipped stateside.”

Yep, things were pretty bleak down there for the first few rotations, much like the first rotations in the Dust Bowl at the NTC in the late 70’s/early 80’s.

Good Times were had by all.

Roh-Dog

I’m sure the Bible study at Speed’s Billiards wasn’t interrupted at all…
Two things I learned in Texas, armed security don’t play and if there’s armed security at a watering hole, probably shouldn’t be there.

Danquwan got shot in the parking lot?

Does NO ONE have any sympathy at all for the parking lot? What did the poor old parking lot do to deserve it?

One less baby daddy burden for taxpayers.

I know – that is SO ungracious of me… and I no longer care. It only takes one bad fish to make the entire barrel stink.

Fjardeson

“It only takes one bad fish to make the entire barrel stink.” I’m totally stealing that.

Ex-PH2

Be my guest.

OldManchu

I’m not very sympathetic to Danquwan, but I am a bit concerned with the burden his Church is facing in filling his spot in the Church choir.

UpNorth

The upside to this is that, with Danquwan’s passing, there is an opening now for the next class at the University of Texas medical school. I’m sure he was in the top 5 in his class.

Graybeard

“Luper was the step-grandson of the homeowners”

That sucks having to shoot your own step-grandson. Hope the folks get some help dealing with having to do that.

David

I’m more curious how a .38 below the eye left him in stable condition? Can only think it was a glancing hit after the shoulder hit spun him a little. .38s may be a little weak but they aren’t THAT weak.

Docduracoat

I was thinking that myself
A .38 to the face should be incapacitating
Just goes to show you that pistols are not death rays

Aysel

what kind of fucking name is Danquwan? Oh I know, a one way ticket to a box 6 feet under. Stop naming your kids retarded names, it’ll help them in the long run.
