Tuesday morning feel good stories
From Bakersfield, California;
Joshua Farley, 18, allegedly pointed a gun at the clerk around 2:30 a.m. while trying to rob the store on Mt. Vernon Avenue. Several customers stepped in to disarm and detain Farley until officers arrived, according to police.
Police said Farley’s gun fired while the customers tried to disarm him, but no one was hit.
Baltimore police say an officer drove up to that store at around 2:45 a.m. Monday morning to find a robbery on progress. There was no call for service; the officer was on his normal rounds and happened upon the robbery in progress, police said.
The suspect was armed with a sawed-off shotgun. Police spokesman T.J. Smith said the man entered the store and immediately confronted the clerk. He took $26. The suspect exited the store and engaged with the officer but did not fire any shots. His gun, in fact, was not loaded, Smith said.
The suspect was shot by the officer and later died at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Body camera footage from the scene showed officers attempting lifesaving efforts at the scene, including performing CPR and applying bandages.

The Baltimore dirt-napper was so broke (all together now, in chorus: “HOW BROKE WAS HE?”), he was robbing the store to get shells for his shotgun.
Next step; getting LOADED shells for his shotgun.
Thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week.
Or. The perp was loaded and the shotgun wasn’t
Maybe the perp didn’t load the shot gun in fear of hurting someone. I see he’s not from Florida though. Wasn’t he also aware that according to the NFA, sawed off shot guns were a no no.
I am loving that the customers in Bakersfield “stepped in to disarm and detain” the robber
In typical modern journalism, the important parts of the story are left out
What was the robber armed with, were any of the customers armed ( unlikely but possible as it is Ca.) were any improvised weapons used and most important did the customers beat the criminal to show him the error of his ways?
It’s quite possible one or more customers may have been armed. The sheriff up there in Kern County is pretty generous with the CCW permits. Bakersfield is about two hours north of L.A. but a whole different world politically.
In another article in the same paper, the state over ruled the Kern county school board which had allowed teachers with concealed carry permits to bring their personal weapons into the school after getting written permission from the school superintendent
I guess we will never read any articles out of California about good teacher with gun stops active shooter
Keep up the good work California legislature!! /sarc
The popo didn’t need to shoot Kade’ Deon, his shotgun be unloaded, he was turning his life around teaching the homeless illiterate how to apply for EBT.
Put a hole in him, then performed CPR until they had pumped all o’ his blood onto the pavement.
