Manning not a traitor
The fellow who was named Bradley Manning when he was sentenced to 35 years in prison for trading away our government’s documents while he was entrusted with keeping secrets claims that he is not an “American traitor” according to Stars & Stripes;
Manning made the remarks at a conference in Nantucket that was one of her first public appearances since being released for a military prison in May. The Associated Press was the only media outlet in attendance.
“I believe I did the best I could in my circumstances to make an ethical decision,” she told the crowd when asked by the moderator if she was a traitor.
It really doesn’t matter how Manning thinks about what he did – the court said that he was guilty of breaking protocols that led to a massive security leak – probably the worst in history. Even if he had done those things without malicious intent, he’d still be a criminal.
When asked about Harvard’s uninvitation to serve as a “fellow”, Manning still doesn’t get why he was punished;
Manning said Harvard’s decision signaled to her that it’s a “police state” and it’s not possible to engage in actual political discourse in academic institutions.
“I’m not ashamed of being disinvited,” she said. “I view that just as much of an honored distinction as the fellowship itself.”
Yeah, well, if this were indeed a police state, he’d still be in prison – or lying in a potter’s field.
Category: Dumbass Bullshit
Bradley Manning saying he’s not a traitor is like saying that water isn’t wet, fire isn’t hot and shit doesn’t stink!
Bradley actually doesn’t think that shit stinks.
wink wink
Or a Clinton saying they aren’t lying.
Traitor. Convicted. Sentenced. Pardons by fools or putting on makeup will not change the facts.
Sentence commuted by SCoaMF; not pardoned. He’ll carry his felony conviction to his grave.
He was not convicted of treason, but of espionage. So, technically, and I hate to say this, he is correct. He is just a spy.
And OJ wasn’t convicted of murder, either.
Still a traitor.
He wasn’t convicted of Treason because some dumbass Judge Advocate decided to do a plea deal with him so he wouldn’t end up on death row.
With the mounds of evidence, I don’t see WHY they would cut a deal with him. Worst case they don’t convict him of treason, but they still find him guilty of everything else he did plead guilty to anyway.
More likely he wasn’t tried for treason because of the Constitutional requirement for either (1) admission in open court, or (2) two witnesses to the same overt act for a conviction for treason. Don’t believe that was do-able.
Espionage has the same max penalty (death) during wartime, and doesn’t require those special provisions regarding proof at trial.
Why the Army took the needle off the table for the traitor, I’ll never know. It’s a virtual certainty he has friendly blood on his hands, and IMO he fully deserved execution.
Under Rule 1207 of the Rules for Courts-Martial, only the President of the United States can approve a death sentence.
Given who the President was at the time of Manning’s trial, what would you expect? Death cases require a lot of extra time and expense…and under those circumstances that would’ve been wasteful.
Agreed. Still a traitor.
I am sick and tired of hearing people patronizing these perverted moronic bastards, this is NOT A SHE! THIS A.H. WILL BE A MAN as God made him until judgment day and nothing will change that!
A commuted sentence is not a pardon. (S)he is still guilty.
The sentence was commuted, but the guilty verdict and DD still exist.
Ok. Still a traitor.
Sorry, You don’t become a whistle blower by breaking the law to do it…….unless it’s a meat whistle in this case…….
“fellow”
He didn’t want to be one anyway.
Ha, I see what you did there 😉
Iowahawk did it one better:
“Fellow > Not a Fellow > Fellow > Not a Fellow”
Talk about living in denial.
People have spent their entire lives in prison for far less.
Girling must be mentally ill and delusional…sounds like it has an organic disease of thought. It might need to be found mentally incompetent, and placed under permanent guardianship of the person, which means Girling will be legally considered a child.
Self centered, sexually confused and not that bright would be my amateur diagnosis. 😉
He’s too dumb to realize he’s being used by people who despise the military and what it stands for. He doesn’t understand that like Cindy Sheehan, they’re going to throw him away like a used condom when they’re done with him.
They’ll throw him away the first time he says something they don’t agree with as well.
Just like Pelosi got “boo’d” down by her own “supporters” because she had a conversation with Trump. That still makes me laugh….
Piglosi used commercial airlines by the thousands of dollars to haul her worthless socialist ass back to SFran every time she took a break, and damned little said about it, now they are Bashing Tom Price for using military aircraft, the freaking hypocritical a.h.s!
IMHO it’s only a matter of time until the left decides they’ve got all the use they can out of him and he’ll be discarded just like Cindy Sheehag was.
Bradley loves used condoms… turned inside out.
Let the little MOFO have its 15 minutes of fame. At some point, s/he/it will lose the ‘media darling’ connotation and find itself wandering the streets, looking for someone to do.
Oh, sorry, I meant ‘something to do’. My bad.
He’ll end up where he began, blowing hobos behind the dumpster out back of the local Burger King.
He’s probably already doing that. Just sayin’.
Everyone is prison is innocent. Just ask them.
I just wanna beat him until stops talking.
Get in line, Doc.
When he kicks he better be in an unmarked grave, otherwise first keg is on me.
Let me have some pizza to go with the beer and I’ll “lay an egg” on his grave afterwards.
I’ll bring the Miralax™.
There are still “defenders” on facebook calling Manning a whistleblower and even one person saying, “Calling her a traitor is a bit much. She’s more of a whistleblower.”
Fuck that shit, he was convicted because of what he did to gain notoriety and act like he was better than everyone else.
If Manning had pulled only specific things that were wrong-doing sitting in the classified realm, maybe then there would be a leg to stand on. But, same as Snowden, there was no filtering, just “grab what you can and dump it!” like both did. So fuck them both. They BOTH put American lives in danger, which makes them traitors.
He blows whistles? I can imagine. 😨
From what people say, he’ll blow anything for a bag of candy.
Gummydicks.
Meat whistles.
It leaked 750,000 documents because it was pissed that the Army pulled it away from its boyfriend. It had no idea what specifically was in the documents, only that there was a chance that something would embarrass the U.S. government. There was no desire to fix an injustice, it was just a temper tantrum from a petulant child.
Whistle-“blower”…..
Ummmmmmmmm……
One of the bigger problems with Bradley is that the little psycho has been trying to wrap himself in the pious cloak of Daniel Ellsberg, and label himself a whistleblower. Which works on those who have only a vague understanding of both the term and Manning’s specific circumstances, but fails in the legal and moral sense:
Under normal circumstances, whistleblowers are supposed to report concerns about information they encounter during normal work to a supervisor. If memory serves, there has never been an indication Bradley ever attempted any such thing.
Questionable things, even if classified, encountered during normal work are granted some leeway for revelation. Things outside the scope of that are not. Most of the 400,000 documents Manning dumped on Wikileaks hadn’t even been read by him. In addition, chat log records show Manning trying to talk Julian Assange into using a password cracker to get into even more classified information he wasn’t supposed to have access to.
What’s also likely is that Bradley’s main motivation was not based on trying to make the world a better place. It was getting revenge on those at FOB Hammer who thought he was creepy.
Whistleblower does not apply. When dealing with classified materials, you are told that there is no such thing as whistleblowing. Classified material is not subject to those protections. You sign a document acknowledging that fact. Manning is a criminal. There is no other interpretation consistent with reality possible.
You’re preaching to the choir.
Still, the specific instance I was thinking of where the revelation of classified information might be given a pass from prosecution wasn’t Manning. It was Eddie Snowden. As a civilian employee of NSA, and later Booz Allen, Snowden revealed that the NSA was routinely recording metadata from telephone calls in the U.S. Something that was apparently illegal, and a violation of NSA’s charter.
My own view is that Snowden would realistically not be facing prison time if he had tried harder to take his concerns through normal channels, and if he had not strayed out of his normal lane in what was revealed. There’s a strong argument, for example, that the reason Snowden went to work for Booz Allen was to gather more dirt for Glenn Greenwald’s story that eventually appeared in the Guardian.
That is just it Perry. There were systems in place to report such things, but neither of them chose to use them. That, and the fact that it was clearly explained to anyone dealing with classified material that you don’t EVER tell anyone without the valid need to know about anything you read or work with for any reason.
They just went off and handed the stuff out.
If Snowden had ONLY pulled the evidence to that specific program and taken it to the media and said, “Hey, the NSA is spying on Americans” I think a lot more people would be fine with what he did.
The problem is he didn’t ONLY pull about that specific program. He pulled lots of data and some of it “outed” our sources and gatherers and, in essence, put the lives of Americans in danger. That is why he, along with Manning, are scumbags.
Snowden even admitted in an interview, the information he released put American lives in danger. But, of course, his response was, “well that’s up to the journalists to filter that, not me.”
So the traitorous little snowflake thinks this is a “police state”, eh?
If he was in the Red Chinese PLA, the State Ministry of Security would have executed his scrawny little ass years ago and had charged his family for the bullet.
Count yourself lucky, you traitorous little fuck…
^This!
Traitor and Blue Falcon until the day he dies, from someone that was driving around central Baghdad while he was sitting in his cubicle pulling his self-righteous hijinks. Fuck him/her/it.
The wannabe-eunuch Bradley Manning IS a traitor and IS NOT a female. Nobody should give a fuck about his cross-dressing fantasies, much less indulge the little rat-bastard. And he claims it was an ethical decision? How about the time he violently attacked a female Soldier in a fit of petty rage? Was that an “ethical choice?” Of course, she stomped his pathetic lying ass into the floor, but the question remains. Besides, what about that supposed “war on women” they’ve been talking about? This cocksucking traitor actually attempted to physically harm a woman, but he evidently gets a pass?
He’ll get one pass after another as long as the left deems him to be a “useful idiot” for their propaganda purposes.
See: Cindy Sheehan; also Madea Benjamin
I’m ok with calling it a she. The only ounce of manhood it has left is what’s being put in it’s mouth. So if people want to call it a female, I’m ok with it.
Turdette.
Many thanks for using your standard photo of Manning and not current one that has been plastered all over the media.
I don’t think my stomach could take it.
I fuckin’ hate that picture. Not because he’s wearing make up and girl clothes. It’s because of the smug look on his face.
It is still a cocksucker.
Bradley Manning- *PTUI!*
Is he gonna cry like a bitch or just stand there and whistle “Dixie?”
It this little bastards case, i think it’s more like “whistle Dicks-ee”
What still puzzles me is how a peon like Manning, in a Brigade CP(?) out in the boonies, was able to access thousands of top secret State Dept. documents. Some higher ranking folks should have had their hands spanked, too.
In Iraq and Afghanistan, the State Dept and DoD are active on the same networks and dump their data to those very networks. So, you have DoD and DoS information, documents, etc., on multiple systems that can be accessed just due to having a “Secret” clearance, or a TS/SCI, which Manning had being an Intel Analyst.
All you needed was a web address to get to documents. Since this little scumbag did what he did, they’ve increased securities so there are more safeguards, but it is still possible to see classified materials that you might not have the “Need to know” to view.
This is why, the Govt should sue that little shit-stain for every dime he has civilly. He made us all change our procedures, policies, increase securities, go through even MORE bullshit training to get to information we NEED to accomplish the mission. That alone is millions of man-hours worth of time they can actually prove was taken away from performing other tasks and duties just because of this little scumbag. I am really surprised they haven’t with all the cash he’s throwing around and all the stuff he is doing.
Sue him for one thing, when he throws out “bankruptcy” wait for 5 years, throw out another item to sue him for, and so on. Keep him living off other people’s money until they are fed up with him.
Maybe he dumped Hillary’s emails too.
” the State Dept and DoD are active on the same networks and dump their data to those very networks….”
Yes, that is pretty obvious. It is also a major problem.
” He made us all change our procedures…”
Good. They needed to be changed. Manning certainly did not NEED that information to accomplish his mission, and I would bet nobody else at his location did either.
The conflict between user convenience and security is not exclusive to the military. It exists in every organization. When the pro-convenience folks win you end up reading about it in the papers. Just ask Hillary, John Podesta, etc.
The Clinton administration was notorious for doing away with security measures for convenience and “fairness”. you may remember, for example, the clusterfumble that was Los Alamos National Lab.
My vote is for security. All those folks are getting paid by the hour.
He and Snowden are the true heroes in these stories…you’re all so brainwashed that you believe exactly what the government tells you to believe.
They carefully leaked that information to protect you as American Citizens from your own government’s terrible over reach into your personal information. There was not a selfish motive to be found between the two of these men*…instead of being persecuted they should be hailed as the warriors of freedom that they truly are….if only you people understood what was really going on.
*only one of these men continues to identify as a man….not responsible for any misunderstanding of the heavy use of sarcastic response. Please use only as directed, results not typical and your mileage may vary….
/sarc
Maybe the two of them should get together and become a power couple, just like the Clintons. Hillary is more man than Bill, other than all the fucked up stuff his Penis does. But Hillary’s penis is bigger than Bill’s.
Manning isn’t a traitor, and I am the Easter Bunny.
Everyone who has seen me and the Easter Bunny in the same room at the same time, please raise your hands.
So, there ya go. Proof positive.
(Is /sarc really necessary?)
“Oh, I don’t know why everybody is being so meeean to me! I didn’t do anything wrong! I did what my conscience told me was right! And your conscience is always right, even when it tells you to do something wrong!
Like kill someone”.

Still a traitor… and a “man”
Still a traitor… and a “—” (“male”)
Fixed it for you. Whatever that is, it most certainly is not a man.
I concur with my esteemed colleague of the M.
‘IT’ Manning should go to Russia……right now….to prance around Red Square in full drag
I feel sorry for Chelsea Manning right now. Not yet 30 and already fucked up beyond all hope.
