Raymond Nicholson III; Levittown fireman forges orders

| August 16, 2017

According to the Levittown Patch, Raymond Nicholson III, a volunteer fireman in Levittown, New York is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing for when he submitted military deployment orders in order to get pension credits for work he didn’t want to do;

[District Attorney Madeline Singas] said that in February 2016 and 2017, Nicholson, who was a volunteer firefighter with the Levittown Fire Department, allegedly submitted two falsified orders to the department which said he had been called to active duty with the Army.

The first set of allegedly falsified orders, dated Feb. 17, 2016, stated that he was to report to Andrews Air Force Base on Feb. 25, 2016 for 364 days. The second set were dated Feb. 26, 2017, and the orders stated that he was to report to the World Trade Center for 180 days on March 1, 2017.

Nicholson had been discharged from the Army since 2006 and he’s currently employed at the Homeland Security Department as a Customs & Border Patrol Agent at JFK Airport.

Well gee whiz, I wonder how long it will take the AFGE to get him reinstated?

MSGT_RET

It won’t happen. AFGE does not represent CBP employees.

There’s some good news!

SFC D

CBP is covered by The National Treasury Employees Union. I seriously doubt they’re gonna save his ass. He now has security clearance issues.

I don’t understand why a volunteer firefighter would need to do such a thing.

For what?

When I was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician for the North Salt Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the South Davis County Ambulance, I received $5.00 for each ambulance run, and the minimum hourly wage for each response on the fire truck, and whether I was responding as a firefighter or as an EMT depended on the assignment roster.

(It was one or the other, but not both at the same time.)

At the time, I was working as a police officer for the Department of Defense Police at Hill Air Force Base.

So, what exactly was this guy going to get paid, and for what?

The Other Whitey

Some volunteer outfits back east pay a stipend for guys to hard-cover the station (as opposed to responding from home) for a shift. Outside of that, many of the bigger volunteer departments back east have a remarkably competitive entry process and don’t just take whoever shows up. Numbnuts probably wanted to take some extra time off without losing his slot.

That being said, of the guys I’ve seen trying to become firefighters, the two most basic categories have been guys who want to be firefighters, and guys who want to tell chicks that they’re firefighters. The former category are hard-working, motivated, and generally (not always) become good firefighters when given a chance. The latter category are the lazy pieces of shit who don’t pay attention in training, don’t pull their weight around the station, but have lots and lots of Ricky Rescue t-shirts and bumper stickers telling people that they’re firemen. I’m guessing this guy is a shining example of the latter category.

In the Navy, everyone is a firefighter.

Oh, and we enjoy constantly painting the same thing over and over.

Ugb, My name changed, sorry. I posted this.

Wanna bat not for much longer when they get wind of his shenanigans?!?!?!

I wonder how quickly the AFGE will go to bat to get him reinstated?

Again. AFGE does not represent CBP.

Okay, I stand corrected and am relieved by that news.

Hmmm, Sounds like he is a Volley and also an employee of the Levittown NY Fire District. because he wanted to get out of work that he did not want to do, he forged the District docs. These are two different entities. The pension could be the New York State LOSAP (length of service award program) and or the districts pension plan if they have one. NYS started this program a number of years ago to retain the Vollies. One has to maintain a certain percentage to get the LOSAP credits. I never earned the maximum due to the hours on my regular.

So are the “pension credits” from a volunteer firefighter job really so lucrative that they’re worth risking your full-time Federal job and benefits?

What a dolt.

FatCircles0311

The Feds sure know how to pick them don’t they?

I stand corrected on my last comment. It’s supposed to read, I never earned the max percentage due to my regular job which entailed long hours. Whenever I could make the calls, I did respond to the station or if the rig was already on the road, I went to the scene.

Damn CBP Agent at JFK dang sweet job and bet well paid with benefits, umm now not so much, but it will because of racism and trump he got busted and fired.!!

Yep OPR will be on this like a hobo on a hotdog. We had a clerk that used her travel card for “non travel” expenses. She ain’t clerkin no more.

Andy11M

Do people not check when someone slaps down deployment orders for a Guard or Reserve unit? One phone call back in 2016 and his bullshit would have been nipped in the bud.

rwb14(4)L

As I read all the comments all I can say is WOW!!! Could this be some miscommunication or mistake on the other side. It amazes how many people are put in this pension scam situation and are found not guilty… all because someone in HR or wherever thinks they found a slam dunk case. I found myself in a similar situation back in 2008, and had my name and family dragged thru the mud just to be found “Not Guilty”. It’s time that we stop public shaming and start letting the system decide. If he is found guilty, throw his butt to the fire… until then lets season him up!

DSV(12M)

A little birdie told me that all charges were drop against him. Can anyone verify?

Firefighter319

Somehow he was released. I’m in the military unit he was supposedly deployed with. What a crock. Hopefully he lost his federal job.

Firefighter319

All he had to do was wait till this June to do it for real!! Lol, he prolly would have found an excuse to get out of it though.

LIFIREMAN230

I have confirmed all charges were dropped. Apparently someone was out to screw this guy and almost succeeded. From what I can tell the agency was all kinds of screwed up and had poor record keeping. The State came in for a surprise audit and they threw him under the bus to protect others. The records that was pulled from the backup archives of their system also revealed that he did not any Military orders for that time period on file and he also resigned at the end of 2015 not 2017.

Animal

Come on Raymond. You can do better than that. Sneak in here when you think no one is watching.

LIFIREMAN230

My bad for not knowing this guy, I was more interested in the case. Whenever a case about Stolen valor, fake deployments, etc. is close to where I live, I follow. I even take it one step further and go to the court dates. Which is one advantage of working so close to the courthouse.

Firefighter319

It was the state that dropped the charges. Now federal is involved. There was forged signatures and such. This isn’t going away yet. Stay tuned. We are on our way over. For real Raymond….

DSV(12M)

Was it dropped because lack of burden or simply because the FEDS are involved?
