Obama to Islam; We are not your enemy
AP is making a big deal about President Obama’s interview last night on Al-Arabiya, the Arab news network, his first since his Inauguration. The headline is supposed to be big news;
The New York Times calls it a “new tone” in Mideast relations;
Well, it’s such a simple solution to the Mideast problem, why didn’t Bush think of that? Actually he did. Although the Bush era speech has been scrubbed from the White House website (the speech is supposed to be at this URL; www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/09/20010920-8.html), through the magic of cached webpages, I found the speech he made on Sept. 20, 2001 when he told the Arab world that Islam is not our enemy;
So what’s new? Obama juxtaposed a word or two, but it ends up having the same meaning. Is this what change is? Obama recycling Bush speeches only this time the media fawns over virtually the same words?

I support Obama going on international outlets in troublesome areas, but his policies and talking points are nothing new and have been State Dept. lingo for years. The only thing new was talking to Iran…
My favorite part of the AP story? This tidbit: “During his presidency, former President George W. Bush gave several interviews to Al-Arabiya but the wars he launched in Iraq and Afghanistan prompted a massive backlash against the U.S. in the Muslim world.”
“the wars HE launched in Iraq and Afghanistan”? Yeah, because we DIDN’T get sucker punched first.
I already gave a shot over the bow at The Sniper regarding his foreign policy already starting to show signs of fracturing. Letting terrorists free and taking aggressive interrogation methods off the table is SOOOOO effective with these hard-corps types. What’s the next step? Requesting they do their reach arounds with lanolin?

You can call Obama the First Green President, considering all of the recycling that he’s doing. First it’s Clinton-era cabinet members, and not it’s speeches from past presidents.
In college, they still call it plagiarism, but that’s Biden’s specialty, isn’t it?

Oh yeah,
” We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.”
Isn’t that exactly what he did? Or do they call that “diplomacy,” now?

Of course, considering his previous track record, including his most recent pledge not to appoint lobbyists which he violated within 24 hours, nobody, including Muslims,should be confident in believing him either.
Former President Bush was excoriated for “failing” to “follow up” on Bill Clinton’s good efforts to bring Israel and the Palestinians together. I thought his explanation, that he had “honored” Clinton’s effort by refusing to allow Yasser Arafat to negotiate in bad faith, and then wait out the end of the President’s term in hopes of getting a better deal, showed a very capable grasp of the situation. He made it clear that the deal made under Clinton’s auspices was still available. All they had to do is accept it for real.
Now, President Obama has a fine opportunity because George Bush has tee’d up the issue properly. I think Obama has made a fine start, and I hope he can pull off an analogy to the COIN strategy we used in Iraq.
A/S are they still going to believe him when their mortgages don’t get paid, the gas doesn’t get paid for and they still don’t have those $100,000 jobs they thought he was promising? I doubt it, they’ll just be catching up with the folks who didn’t believe anything he said in the first place.

My amusement at the POS Obamarrhoid doing this whole pathetic whiney snot nosed “pleeeeze be sweet to us, pretty pleeeeeze, don’t hurt us pleeeeeze” routine for the muslim throat cutters, is limited by the fact that some people think this gutless lily-livered grovelling s.o.b. represents the USA.
The one detail left out of the MSM reports is the final paragraph, which should have read,
“After the interview, Mr. Obama dropped trou, assumed a crouching posture and invited any interested muslims to mount him as they wailed a muezzin call in orgasmic harmony.”
I’m finding “The One” has been busy xeroxing Bush Administration documents and calling them his own work. Now he is parroting Bush’s statements regarding islam.
Perhaps this is the result of a VP showing “The One” the finer points of plagiarism
