Friday morning feel good stories

From McAlester, Oklahoma;

“We got a call from a guy who said somebody had tried to break into his house,” McAlester Police Det. Capt. Don Hass said. Police described the man living in the house as a combat veteran of Vietnam.

When the veteran saw his home was being broken into, he opened fire, Hass said.

“He fired several shots at him and he thought he hit him,” said Hass, referring to the homeowner firing at the man who was breaking into his home and hitting the suspected burglar.

Seven minutes later, a McAlester man with a chest wound checked into the emergency room at the McAlester Regional Health Center, Hass said. The man with the gunshot wound underwent surgery and was reported in stable condition at the hospital on Monday, he said.

From Sarasota, Florida;

According to the Sheriff’s Office, two masked men attempted to rob the Pizza Hut at 3251 17th St. at about 11:30 p.m. One of the employees reported that he drew his lawfully carried firearm after one of the robbers pointed a gun at him. The 22-year-old employee, who said he feared for his life, fired three times at the robber before taking cover. The robbers fled, leaving a firearm and blood behind.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a gunshot victim being driven to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Shawnathan Young, 21, of Bradenton was treated for a gunshot wound and charged with armed robbery. The three men who were in the car that brought Young to the hospital were arrested.

In Louisville, Kentucky;

Police say a man called them to report that he’d just shot 19-year-old (now 20-year-old) Keith Dawson after Dawson tried to rob him.

Police say the victim told them Dawson walked up to him, pulled a handgun and demanded cash. At that point, the victim said, he gave Dawson $200, and Dawson pistol-whipped him.

The victim says he then pulled his own handgun and fired several shots at Dawson, hitting him in the chest.

Dawson was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police say they later determined that the gun Dawson used to commit the robbery had been reported to Shively Police as stolen.

The victim was able to identify Dawson through a photo, according to an arrest warrant, which was issued on Jan. 31, 2017.

Dawson was taken into custody by Louisville Metro Police on Wednesday night. He is charged with receipt of stolen property (a firearm) and first-degree robbery.

From Houston, Texas;

Deputies said two teens came through the side door of the Applebee’s in the 5900 block of Sam Houston Parkway around 1 a.m. Tuesday. One of them allegedly had a knife, while the other approached the bar and demanded money from the register.

The employee at the bar showed the teen the register, and as he was trying to open it, another worker grabbed the suspect and threw him to the ground, deputies said.

The teen with a knife ran toward his friend to help him, but one of the employees threw him down and grabbed the knife out of his hand.

Exclusive eyewitness video shows the suspects being held down by workers as they waited for deputies.

“If they had had a gun, our lives could have been a whole different story,” said the customer who shot the video.

Getting shot in the chest can be a “Life Changing” experience, if not a “Life Ending” experience, as several thugs are finding out. More frequently, citizens are defending themselves with legally owned firearms, making thuggery a more high risk venture.

How did you jump in 15 minutes ahead of my post, when the comments were blank? That’s a neat trick….no wonder I never get ‘first’ around here.

Was working out at the gym once and ended up talking to the guy behind the counter about home defense guns when this ‘roided up jackass butted in to tell us that because he was so huge he didn’t need a gun to protect himself.

I told him that a few sucking chest wounds might change his mind on the subject.

Practicing for ‘first’….

Happy 20th birthday, Keith Dawson of Kentucky! Unfortunately, since you are in prison, that special “package” you’re about to receive has not been wrapped……

Robbing fast food joints and pizza stands is not as easy as they thought it would be, is it? Sometimes, you get a bullet or a pounding instead cash from the cash drawer.

Down here in South Florida, some businesses have fired employees because of their use of a fire arm during an armed robbery. Better to be fired than work for some shit bird anti 2 boss.
