Inmates save guard
Just when I’ve given up on people, this happens;
The prisoners were weeding and cleaning a local cemetery when the unidentified guard passed out, face-down, in hot and humid temperatures, authorities said.
The inmates rushed to the man’s side, turned him over and removed his gun belt.
Then the prisoners removed the officer’s bulletproof vest and began CPR. Another inmate used the man’s cell phone to call 911.
At first, the guard did not seem to be getting any air, the prisoners said.
“When he started breathing, it was just real heavy and real fast,” inmate Greg Williams told CBS19.
Paramedics arrived and helped revive the guard.
A man’s life meant more to them than any selfish thoughts of freedom.

GOOD ON EM!
Time off for good behavior. Some people do learn from their mistakes.
Yes,

Sheriff Moats that he would take off about one-fourth of the inmates’ sentences for their heroic actions. In addition, the inmates are being treated to homemade lunch and desserts prepared by the officer’s family, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
Their sentences are in fact being reduced:

I’ve known some COs (Correctional Officers) who take on these positions to help “the boys”.
FYI, in case someone is wondering, the guys who get to go “outside” on this kind of work details are usually “trustees” – guys who’ve kept their noses clean while inside. They can still be dangerous, but not always.
Good job, gentlemen. We look forward to welcoming you back into society when your time is done.
That’s a for real feel good story.
Obviously not liberal democrats. Good job fellas!
And you know that because…? Just had to try and ruin a real feel good story by dragging politics into it. Sad!
Just because they’re felons doesn’t mean they’re total shitbags. Of course, doing landscape work offsite indicates that they’re “trustees” in for lesser offenses. I’ve fought fire with many such cons.
Still, damn good of them!
Apparently, sometimes “Corrections” does in fact correct, the penitent actually repent.
Awesome story
A beer to all
The basic instinct of most people is to help others in distress. Those men have a good sense of what is the right thing to do.
Good for them. I hope they realize it.
I’m not surprised. Nearly all criminals have serious substance abuse problems that directly lead to criminal behavior to support their habits or other criminal behavior as an ancillary effect of it. Get them off the drugs and most are just normal people like everyone else.
Drugs are difficult to obtain in jail so most remain sober most of their time in jail. If they could remain sober when they got out crime would greatly diminish in the US. There are still a few shitbirds out there no matter what but they are in the minority.
But drugs are victimless crimes… They told me so on MSNBC and CNN!
That’s because at CNN and MSNBC they’re *ON* drugs.
/Drugs are bad, M’Kay?!?!
I hope they all get some time off for good behavior? I would at least give them all a cold beer! BZ! Gentlemen BZ!
Sentence reduction of 25% and homemade lunch and dinner from the family! 🙂

This is one of stories that brightens my day 🙂
BZ to the inmates, I hope they stay straight and out of jail once their sentences are done.
God puts His mark on every creature He makes.
