Wednesday morning feel good stories
From Allentown, Pennsylvania;
The victim told officers he and two friends had been walking from a diner in the area when two masked men, armed with guns, approached them and demanded money. The victim said as he was getting money from his pockets when one of the men began pistol-whipping him.
The victim said he fought back and was able to get the gun away from one of the men. He said he was shot in the right shoulder and returned fire, hitting one of the men.
Both alleged robbers fled, but an injured [Kornelle Davis, 21] stumbled into a diner parking lot where police found him.

Mr Frazier, the crook, was DRT.

Perhaps Louisiana needs a better law concerning defense of personal property from theft.
That said, it’s not a good idea to shoot at a criminal who’s fleeing. The police often take a dim view of such.

Louisiana does not allow using deadly force to prevent property crimes.
Texas.
Yeah, but Mr Parker shot Hewitt in Louisiana. In Texas, one could be in a shitstorm depending on what county one uses deadly force. A determined DA can just keep bringing the case up in front of grand juries until one brings an indictment.
True. An aggressive DA can be a game changer.
So the dimwitted D.A. thinks you should approach a thief while you are unarmed and hope the a.h. doesn’t have a gun? You people need a different DA next election time!!
“Kornelle” ?? oh, brother…that poor fella never had a chance with that name
His brother Vanderbelt was unavailable for comment.
His mother went with Kornelle when she decided that Palmer would doom him to a life of failure.
‘Kornelle’?
Pfffffttt.
This week’s current front-runner is: ‘Mamtonio Bunch’.

I guess people are supposed to just roll over and continue to let people destroy their property. At what point is a citizen allowed to say that they had enough of their belongings being destroyed because some has a grudge, real or imagined, against them?
This! Not to mention, the success of the thief can embolden them to more and more brazen attempts until they reach the point of violent robbery or home invasion.
Stop them on the first try!

really poor example given the facts in the Horn case. Horn probably should not have been no-billed.
Why do you think he should not have been no-billed?
What charges would be appropriate in your opinion?
Do you agree with the criminals leaving the scene prior to the cops arrival?
Well, mainly that he told the 911 operator BEFORE he went outside that he was going to kill them, and that one of the bodies could not be determined whether it was shot in the front or the back. I’m not saying he was innocent – but I think there was sufficient doubt that he should have been tried, not no-billed. I would have been a lot more comfortable with a judge and jury hearing all the evidence. I’m all over defending yourself and your property – but to me, he stepped squarely into a grey area.
So let the criminals go instead of sending a message “don’t burglarize our neighborhood”?
I think his wording, even his 911 call, was ridiculous. If you have time to call 911 you leave doubt as to whether or not you were reduced to deadly force.
But… I proudly add, I am personally thrilled that the criminals are dead as can be.
“Police say Parker was not in imminent danger during the incident, so it was inappropriate for him to approach Hewitt with a rifle.”
I’d say it’s perfectly appropriate to approach as criminal with a rifle. It’s not appropriate to shoot a fleeing criminal, though.
The police approach with a weapon. And for good reason.
What if the crook was fleeing with your 19 year old daughter’s college address, car insurance papers where he could ID her car, and a sweet senior picture of her you kept on your sun visor?
Do you say it is appropriate to let the criminal flee in that situation?
The appropriate thing is to not be a criminal. If you do, you are responsible for the consequences. The victim of the criminal shouldn’t be responsible.
Heck, he had a rifle. No need to approach; just fire from where you are and take the crook out.
