A woman in St Joseph, Missouri, defended her home and family;
Sgt. Byrom with the St. Joseph Police Department said a woman called shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday to report the attempted burglary. She told police that she shot her personal firearm at an individual she believed was trying to break into her home.
The woman was unsure if the bullet struck the individual, but said the person fled immediately after the shot was fired.
In Orlando, Florida, stealing diapers is a capital offense;
A Walmart customer who stepped in to help an employee stop shoplifters from fleeing the store ended up shooting and killing one of the individuals, deputies said.
The gunman told investigators he fired because he thought one of the shoplifters was reaching for a weapon.
The shooting was reported at about 8 a.m. Saturday at the Walmart in the 5500 block of Clarcona Ocoee Road, deputies said .
The 19-year-old, who was hit multiple times, shooting victim was not immediately identified.
70-year-old in Houston, Texas, protects his restaurant from robbery – 1 DRT;
Authorities say the man was leaving J&S Barbecue on Houston’s northeast side after closing up Saturday night when two men jumped out from behind a garbage bin and tried to rob him as he was getting into his car.
The store owner, identified only as a man in his 70s, told police he’d been robbed before after leaving for the night so he was carrying a gun. He shot at the pair.
One of the men was hit in the throat and chest and died later at a hospital. The second robber fled.

Dying for Diapers – now there’s a silly idea!
It’s plain that people will steal anything if they think they can do so.
Had they been successful, those diapers would have shown up on the shelf at the local “Raghead Convenience Store”, where they also barter a person’s food stamps for cash. Orange and Semimole Counties in Florida are rife with this, and I suppose that they are not exclusive.
According to the article, the getaway car was stolen in a carjacking on Jan 13. Gee, I wonder if the suspects were responsible for that.
Legally armed, law abiding citizens will do what they must to protect their lives, as well as the lives of family, friends and innocent victims 2 less criminals to prey on people, and the message has been sent, “We will not take this”.
I’m sure we’ve all seen the meme, “Is anything in here worth killing for?”
I much prefer the corollary, ” Is anything in here worth dying for?”
I hope the helpful shooting shopper’s ID was kept secret. He’s going to get enough flak from the law. He doesn’t need it from the friends/family/recepients of his stolen largesse giving him grief.

Being in his 70’s he opted for the throat shot instead of the throat punch. That had to hurt!
