During the preps for Hurricane Rita in Houston we heard what sounded like B&E noise down the street just after a car with Louisiana tags had cruised the street repeatedly. My son-in-law and I told my wife to call 911, and went down to see what we could see. Turned out OK, they were friends of the neighbors invited to stay and the homeowner was tearing his garage apart to get to window covers to nail up – no confrontation, no problem. The cops never showed up.
