Wednesday morning feel good stories
A homeowner chased a burglar from his home in Hot Springs, Arkansas by mentioning to the thief that he had a concealed weapon permit…even though he had no weapon on him at the time.
A 67-year-old woman in New Haven, Connecticut stabbed one of the intruders in her home. He still got away, but he’s marked now.
Matthew Brown, a person of interest in more than a dozen gas station armed robberies in Tallahassee, Florida, showed his gun to a clerk. They struggled over the gun until the clerk decided to make a grab for his own gun. When the police arrived, Brown was DRT (dead right there).
In Colorado Springs, Colorado security guards detected a robbery about to begin. They disrupted the four thieves’ plan by shooting Damen Lewis. While Lewis lay bleeding on the ground his partners dashed off leaving him behind. Lewis is in the hospital and his partners are still on the run.
An armed robber was shot by an armed customer at a Family Dollar store in Atlanta, Georgia. Police took the criminal into custody.
Yalanda Whipple in Youngstown, Ohio told police that she shot Adam Perkins, an intruder in her home, where she was alone with her two small children. Perkins was found bleeding in a parking lot and taken to the hospital later to get his gun shot wound treated.

More and more legally armed citizens are defending their lives and the lives and goods of others, leaving criminals to bleed out while waiting for the police to come take the report. Getting shot by a homeowner is not a good thing. Most of us either don’t know much first aid, or would hesitate to help a wounded thug because we don’t want his cooties. Life is tough, it is even tougher if you are stupid.
You have to pretty dumb to rob a Family Dollar Store. The sign says “dollar” not Family C-note Store.
Gee, one of the Bad Guys ran away just because the homeowner said he had a CCW permit.
Is it possible that word is getting around, that the victim mentality is going the way of the other stupid stuff?
In a similar situation, the only person that I will notify that I have a CC permit will be the cop that investigates the corpse on the front porch. That information is shared on a strict “need to know” basis by me, and I determine who “needs to know”.
It’s still funny, though, that the perp would run away at the mere mention of a permit, much less a gun (and neither one in sight).
If you can claim self-defense, I wouldn’t even need to mention it then.
With the new Maine carry law, if you do not have a permit you must inform any LEO that approaches you that you are carrying. Better be the first words out of your mouth.
If you have a permit, it is none of their business and they must ask if they want to know. Better have it on you.
Now if the perp is drt and you did the deed then good luck with that.
