US advisors murdered in Jordan
![Staff Sgt. Matthew Lewellen, Staff Sgt. Kevin McEnroe and Staff Sgt. James Moriarty](https://i0.wp.com/valorguardians.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Staff-Sgt.-Matthew-Lewellen-Staff-Sgt.-Kevin-McEnroe-and-Staff-Sgt.-James-Moriarty-300x108.jpg?resize=300%2C108)
Last week, 27-year-old Staff Sgt. Matthew C. Lewellen, of Lawrence, Kansas; 30-year-old Staff Sgt. Kevin J. McEnroe of Tucson, Arizona; and 27-year-old Staff Sgt. James F. Moriarty of Kerrville, Texas, all died when they entered a Jordanian military base. Initially, the special forces soldiers were blamed for the attack because they ignored procedures for entering the base, but CBS News reports that video has come to light that disputes the story;
U.S. officials say the security camera video shows several American vehicles stopped in broad daylight at the entrance to the Jordanian air field where the Green Berets were based. The first was allowed to pass through the gate, but then a guard suddenly opened fire on the second vehicle, killing both Americans inside. The Americans in the third and fourth vehicles jumped out and started returning fire. The Jordanian guard shot and killed one of them before he was wounded by the other.
This administration never learns.

Did Nobama call this “work place violence” yet?
Dammit. I feared this, as the initial reports didn’t pass the smell test.
Fair winds and following seas, warriors.
I spent time at this base in 2012. We had spent the early time of our deployment at the King Abdulla Special Ops Training Center just outside Amman. Things were routine there. But when we went down to King Faisal Air Base, things changed dramatically. We definitely did not feel welcomed. Getting on the base was always an issue. Apparently folks in that part of Jordan would rather be part of Saudi Arabia and aren’t big fans of infidels.
Just another example of “Sudden Jihad Syndrome.” The shooter prolly was just reacting to a little “kill the infidels wherever you find them” sermon at Friday prayers. I guess the shooter didn’t understand the finer “nuances” of Islam like our friend LC does. I guess the fine points are now irrelevant to these three NCO’s who made the ultimate sacrifice for Demoncrat/0bama war strategy. RIP fellow SF comrades.
Jonn, sorry for the typo in the address.
The initial reports were bullshit. There were witnesses. There was video. The thing is that the regime hid behind the investigation screen. Phukers. And to think there are people upset that that Bitch lost. Even a Dad of one of the troopers could not get straight answers. Phukers.
Why hide? So the State Dept could work things out with the king of Jordan and buy some time to let the initial reports cool off. Phukers.
An unfortunate tragedy. That’s what the king of Jordan called this cold-blooded murder. I hope Trump goes hard or not at all. This piecemeal bullshit that costs American lives needs to stop–yesterday! I know that the military will do what the military is told to do. They can’t complain or speak against this bullshit, but we sure can. Make it glass or haul ass. That’s my message.
I agree. I am so looking forward to a president and an admin. that lets our warfighters fight this war against civilized humanity to win, instead of all the feel good PC progtard bullshit put out by 0 and his propaganda ministry thru their MSM useful fools/tools.
Please enlighten me, why am I seeing so many stories of Special Forces soldiers dying? I have seen in the past 3 weeks 4 separate instances (if I remember correctly), two a day apart. Any death is one too many, but these are our highly trained elites. What is going on? I was told a long time ago if I want the real story, come here, so please enlighten me. Lord knows I won’t get the real story in the “news”.
My deepest sympathies to the families of these soldiers.
I reply as a former SF officer and student of special operations.
Army SF and other special operations forces are being used almost exclusively by this president and his lackeys at the DOD because they (SF) operate quietly in the shadows and this administration can maintain the propaganda meme that we don’t have any “boots on the ground” in this conflict. One of Army SF’s primary missions is to train, direct, and assist foreign nations’ military and paramilitary forces in combat operations against the enemy (in this case Jihadi organizations like ISIS and AQ). It was Army SF teams and the Northern Alliance Afghani fighters that completely defeated the Taliban in early 2002. They are often quite effective and an economy of force. Army SF teams are deployed all over the world to carry out these training missions. Mobile Training Teams/task forces usually are often less than 20 people, mostly Army NCO’s, with attached USAF air controllers and other assets. These men are at the point of the spear and are in places where they are likely to become casualties. However, Jordan was supposed to be secure. But as some military recruiters and others have learned the hard way here in the US, nowhere is safe from “Sudden Jihad Syndrome.” This enemy has infiltrated the entire western world.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. So, basically, SF is being used outside of their usual purview to give the appearance of troop withdrawl? A BS campaign promise? And there is nothing that can be done? How can one sleep at night knowing they are sending a 12 man A-team in to do the job of 10 times that many. I understand these men are elite professional soldiers and the inherent risk involved in their duties, but there is a certain point where what they are asked to do is preposterous. Do they not realize these are real men’s lives and not a Hollywood movie? Makes me sick to my stomach.
I found in one article 8 SF soldiers died in 3 weeks. Not casualties, deaths. I cannot find actual statistics of specific numbers of SF deaths, but I doubt they are included in the total 31 deaths in 2016 listed at icasualties.org, because I suspect, as you say, they operate quietly in the shadows, so they are not included in any “Operation” count. 8 in three weeks is a mind staggering number in my mind for men who are highly trained, specialized elite soldiers and, in essence, diplomats. I don’t ever remember hearing of so many SF deaths so often.
Unfortunately, I fear you are right that no where really is safe. I am very thankful for those, such as yourself, who do the job of combating it.
Thank you for your service and time in replying.
For one, SF is by far and away the largest component of USSOCOM, and secondly their bread & butter is operating in the world’s hellholes w/ some rough ambiguous heavily armed dudes for months on end. The odds are when a SOF guy gets killed, it’s going to be a Green Beret. There were also some SF deaths during training Stateside in last couple months IIRC.
Thank you for your reply. I do understand their duties and risks involved in that, but their training and skill far exceeds that of an infantryman (no offence to infantry). They are specially trained to manage the situations they are in, which is why I assume I don’t normally hear about many deaths of SF soldiers. My biggest concern is I don’t ever recall hearing of so many in such a short period of time. It’s a staggering number to me, and I fear because they are not getting the support they need or are being sent in to situations where they do not have enough manpower to survive… all due to politics and not skill of the enemy.
The reason, in all likelihood, is that they are operating among supposed friendly forces in order to train them. Our people are not at these various hellholes to fight but to guide, educate, and train. Among the supposed friendlies are ISIS and others who are inside and get to observe and scout our people, readying to strike a blow for Allah. The training cannot occur remotely so our people are necessarily among those who would kill them. The answer is for us to get out altogether or to conduct training elsewhere, such as Antarctica. Is that feasible? No, so we need to get the hell out.
Thank you for your reply. That is a very valid argument why the uptick in numbers. Friendlies are not really friendly.
I agree we need to get the hell out, but a part of me believes they will just come here if we do… this isn’t war like we’ve seen before… as the spot on saying goes “the enemy without borders”…
“This administration never learns…” to stop lying.
Fixed it for you.
^^^^^ This ^^^^^
Remove all our soldiers and troops from over there.
No lives are worth risking anymore for these turds, let them fight among themselves.
Zactly. Let the factions and secyts, those who pray 5 times a day v. those who do so three have at each other. I suggest we arm all sides, as a matter of policy. When they are done, we can then deal with whoever is still standing.
Throw in a box of knives and shut the door.
Lol. I really laughed out loud at this one.
If we want to have any hope of winning this war against Western Civilization, we cannot do it by staying at home an waiting for them to come here. They are already here, as we have already painfully learned. We have to stay engaged over there if we want to ultimately win this decades long conflict. I think we learned that pretending this is an international crime problem, as did the Clinton Admin, doesn’t buy us peace, anymore than the Munich Accord bought Britain peace. If they only fought among themselves and left us alone that would be fine. But that is not what Jihadists do. You apparently don’t know or have forgotten that the leaders of CAIR want the black flag of Islam to fly over the Capitol and Sharia law to replace our Constitution. The soft Jihad is already progressing in this country.
Regrettably, IMO you’re correct.
Peace will not be a choice. Radical Islam has a vote in that; their vote is for jihad.
We can fight here, or we can fight there. In my book that’s a “no brainer” choice.
Ironically, these turds are only important because Americans went NIMBY during the 1970s and 1980s wrt energy production. No nukes, no coal, no oil refineries, no research, not in my area.
Now, exploit others? Yes! We want the benefits of energy, but not the side effects.
You can thank our best president ever, James Earl Carter for the never ending war in the ME and add these men to his account.
Votes have consequences far beyond who we elect.
We have something else to “thank” Jimmy the Clueless for as well: the rise of Radical Islam. The Carter Administration withdrew US support for the Shah of Iran. The result was the return of Khomeini and an Iran ruled by a radical Shia Islamic theocracy, intent on exporting jihad against both the USSR and the “Great Satan”, the USA. Those successes did not go unnoticed by Sunni Radical Islamists, who quickly followed suit.
Question: When I was in country in Iraq in 2008-2009, there were plenty of armored SUVs. In fact I distinctly remember seeing rows of them at BIAP just sitting there and I also know they were used by SPECOPS to move around outside the wire. My question, why arent these assists available in Jordan? These vehicles would have prevented the 2nd Vic from being ambushed this way.
Maybe I’m being ignorant and not understanding the situation. If I was operating over there and wanted to keep low key, I’d have been using them.
My condolences to the families of those involved. I mean no disrespect to any of the SPECOPS community.
Those were probably “given” to Iraq…so that ISIS would have nice up armored SUVs to ride in, apparently…
How much you want to bet he doesn’t come out of that medically induced coma long enough to be interviewed?
Jack Murphy at SOFREP has more on this tragedy.

Great. They were there to train those mythical “moderate Syrian rebels”.
That means this incident is yet another deadly fiasco for which we can thank the clueless current clown krewe in DC.
If that link is accurate – Obama and this administration own this – lock, stock and barrel…
