Survivor; plane crash was intentional

| October 12, 2016

According to CBS News, the survivor of a plane crash in new Hartford, Connecticut on Tuesday;

One of the men on the plane, Feras M. Freitekh, is a Jordanian national who first entered the U.S. in 2012 on a temporary student M1 visa to fulfill a course of study for flight school, CBS News has learned. At some point his status changed to an F1 visa, and he went to a language school in Toledo, Ohio. It then went back to an M1 visa.

The New York Times first reported that the FBI was brought in to investigate claims made by the instructor that the plane was intentionally crashed.

It looks like Feras M. Freitekh was the only casualty of the crash. Two others are in the hospital, but they were traumatized by the sight of the crash, they didn’t sustain any external injuries. The instructor pilot, Adrian Prevalla, is cooperating with investigating authorities.

An apartment with four other students where Freitekh lived was raided earlier.

Taking Off is optional. Landing is mandatory.
Glad the scumbag lived so we can get information but I hope he later dies of his injuries.

Graybeard

It appears from an initial reading that the flight instructor was not complicit in the crash. It was his Jordanian student who crashed the plane.

Freitekh, the one who (apparently) intentionally crashed the plane is currently experiencing the torments of hell for eternity. Quite the shock for someone expecting an eternity of pleasure.

So, what did we learn after 9/11? Muslims allowed in the US to attend flight school…Where have I heard that before.

SFC D

Already seen this movie. Didn’t much care for it then. Even less now.

OC

And we’ll get more of the same if’n Cankles wins.

Doing something over and over the same way expecting a different outcome is called INSANITY! Welcome to obamaland!!

That darned Bernath!

Frankie Cee "In the Clear"

Was the aircraft adequately placarded to warn of flying with less fuel than FAA minimums? Possible lawsuit here.
Was the “dick with the stick” an obnoxious, under skilled, overbearing, inept, recently disbarred bilker of Social Security claims?
Was there evidence of corroded, neglected control cables and rods? Was the poor guy’s mind distracted by fears of drywall screws and coconut IEDs?
So many questions.

Hack Stone

Inquiring minds want to know.

Silentium Est Aureum

Only Elaine Ricci knows for sure.

I want to know whether there was a duct- taped dog that was a factor in this crash. I’ve heard that can cause control problems for some pilots. I recall that a certain disbarred “lawer” once experienced this flight control hazard.

Don’t forget Frankie:

Deadbeat dad

Water in the fuel tank?

I didn’t know that goats could learn how to fly? I hope the scumbag burns in hell. And where does Allah say that the 72 virgins will be female? or even human??

2/17 Air Cav

The Jordanian came here in 2012 on a temporary student M1 visa to fulfill a course of study for flight school. Flight school? Expressly for flight school? That’s screwed up right there. When a Muslim wants to come to the US to learn to fly an airplane, who the hell is saying “Sure, Great. Come on!” to him?

2/17 Air Cav

The next thing you know we’ll have foreign soldiers coming here to train and they’ll start disappearing. Huh? What’s that? Oh.

Ex-PH2

This was on the mid-day news. An additional piece of information is that there is a Pratt-Whitney jet engine plant near the crash site.

Graybeard

Probably his intended target.

Rob-Dog

I saw the smoke when I was leaving work and thought it was just a fire. But a little bit after that there was a plane crash, and I’ll be damned if that was my first thought. Brainard airport approach is over Route 2 right by Pratt and Whitney, some of those planes are pretty low coming in. This guy had a target in mind, the headquarters of the facility that builds the engine for the F-35. Ain’t no buts about it.
When the hell are we (and I really mean the ostriching portion of America) going to take these douchbags seriously?

Ex-PH2

I am sincerely glad, Roh=Dog, that this idiot was so bad at flying that he hit a lamp post** instead of anything else. It could have been a city bus full of people, or a fuel tanker truck on a highway. The skin of your teeth – that sort of thing.

**Lamp post was what was shown accompanying the news story.

Grabeard

And the evidently innocent flight instructor survived. I would not be surprised to find that he had a role in the failure of the attack.

Ex-PH2

It’s possible that the flight instructor realized what the student pilot intended to do and stopped it before it happened. If so, he took a hell of a risk.

Graybeard

If he realized the student was trying to crash the plane into something, he really had only two choices
a) do nothing, die, and let other innocents die,
b) do something, maybe die, and prevent other innocents deaths.
Option b is the only good choice, IMHO

Roh-Dog

Regarding the bad at flying theory, he overshot the target. That area is conditionally target rich, the hundreds of people that line up for sales at Cabelas, or worse, the uconn football stadium is right there too. This guy probably chose THAT target or the situation made it for him.
(Thanks for the name correction Ex-PH2. Glasses are mia)

ex-OS2

Apparently he also holds a single engine pilots license, so he would have been familiar with approach procedures. Approach and runway obstacles are clearly published. It appears this was deliberate, not mechanical or human error. I am curious if they have any atc communications.

Tallywhagger

From what I’ve read, the aircraft was a Piper PA-34, better known as a twin engine Seneca. It is a very decent light twin and commonly used for multi-engine flight training.

The PA-34s, from the 70s era, had counter-rotating engines which minimizes critical engine effect but, still, the plane was low and slow, on final approach. It could be that PIC (pilot in command) went “Bernath” faster than the Instructor could recover.

Flight school training for foreign students is big business in the U.S.

On balance, I’d sooner fly with an Israeli than a goatphucking spawn of the prophet.

The NTSB will investigate the incident, I hope they do NOT pull a Comey or go DoJ on it.

BTW, on this day, in 1997, John Denver experienced an off-airport landing. RIP.

A Proud Infidel®™

“The NTSB will investigate the incident, I hope they do NOT pull a Comey or go DoJ on it”

I have NO DOUBT they will as they try to blame the instructor so as not to “unjustly’ paint muzzies in a bad light.

rgr769

Denver’s landing was a little more than “off airport.” As I recall from my pilot days, he pulled a Bernathian fuel check, took of with the fuel tank selector on the tank that was almost empty, and after the engine quit, he went down in Monterey Bay. Off airport landings are always problematic if you are not flying a seaplane.

Pinto Nag

We do take it seriously, but why don’t YOU tell US what we should do about it that won’t land us in jail? Talk with the government critters at all levels? Check. Told that they’re refugees and need our help. Anything else? Yes? What was that? I couldn’t hear you. Cops can’t do anything until they do. You want the feds to do anything you better have somewhere for them to start. So enlighten your ignorant fellow citizens, please. Tell us what we can do that won’t start a goddam riot and/or end up with us in jail or dead.

A Proud Infidel®™

The snot-nosed liberal moonbat snooze media telling us NOT to judge all muzzies by this in 3, 2, 1,… Now just WHY THE FUCK do they suddenly say that ALL law-abiding Gun Owners need to be scrutinized every time there’s a shooting? Yes, liberalism is a Mental Disorder. May every one of his “virgins” be a hybrid cross between Hitlery Rotten Cankles and Helen Thomas.

Rob-Dog

Because this wasn’t a ‘high capacity’ air’o plane, duh…

A Proud Infidel®™

Well then it looks like we need AIRPLANE CONTROL
LAWS passed yesterday! I mean common sense Airplane Control Laws, knowhutimean?

Roh-Dog

For the kids…
For the love of everything that is holy, everyone write your Congressperson and tell them to close the air show loophole.
And to my point above the local npr’s news update at the top of the hour was about a business merger not a terrorist attack in the backyard. But by chance this wasn’t bad

Graybeard

No basket of deplorables, rednecked, Christian, Bible-thumping, gun-clinging, Trump supporting Isalmophobes were involved, therefore, it is not news.

Skippy

Looks like round 2 is in the works

USAFRetired

A conflict in the news article.

The Hartford Courant reports that the Cessna took off from Hartford’s Brainard Airport on Tuesday with a student pilot and an instructor on board. It struck a utility pole in East Hartford and crashed around 4 p.m., bursting into flames.

The Piper PA 34 twin-engine plane crashed on Main Street in East Hartford at around 3:30 p.m., according to the deputy police chief. Main Street was shut down between Brown Street and Ensign Street. Drivers were being asked to avoid the area, CBS affiliate WFSB reports.

Someone needs to follow the money. Dual instruction in a Piper Seneca (light twin) isn’t cheap. The local news hounds need to learn there is a difference between Cessna and Piper.

Tallywhagger

$250/hour, dual, for a PA-34, fuel included. Cheaper than learning to fly a helicopter!

Hartford is not one of my favorite places, I can just imagine the turmoil they had with two plane crashes in a 30 minute time span, at the beginning of rush hour.

To the media, every small airplane is a Cessna and the idiots who report that stuff try to sound like they know something about anything. Such has become the nature of “journalism”.

A Proud Infidel®™

IMHO news mutts are about as smart as the politician who screeched about a “Ghost gun” with a “30 Clip Magazine”.

rgr769

They like to call themselves “reporters,” but most of them incurious, clueless propagandists. And the facts they are the least interested in are those which don’t further the progtard narrative.

Ex-PH2

More news regarding this on the evening news:

A house in Orland Hills, IL, a suburb south of Chicago, is the student pilot’s last address. If you want to know more, go to WGNTV dot com on air live tonight at 9PM CDT. There should be another update. If not, try tomorrow.

Curiouser and curiouser. There are plenty of places around Chicago to take flying lessons. Plenty of them.

BINGO, Dave.

My question is, how long are supposedly rational people not only going to ignore the vipers fangs, but also insist that we keep it for a pet? And how long are we all going to go along to get along?

J Wright

NTSB handing it off to the FBI – Initial reports are FBI states suicide as the motive

The Flight Instructor will agree because he doesn’t want to be blacklisted by the customers’ money managers.

4 years in the USA and this guy was still flying a Part 91 piston bird – that’s suspicious
