Wait lines to get out of VA
Bobo sends us a link to Fox News which reports that, in addition to veterans waiting in line to get into the Veterans’ Affairs system, there’s also a wait line to get buried for veterans who have passed while they were in the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Illinois;
“Hines VA — the hospital that has been overrun with cockroaches and mold and left vets waiting for care for months on secret wait lists, has reached a new low in the treatment of our veterans,” [Senator Mark Kirk, R-Ill.] told FoxNews.com. “We now have reports of bodies being left to decompose in the morgue for months on end.”
The whistleblower, who has spoken with Kirk’s office, described a “horrible issue” at the hospital in the letter to the IG: “Some veteran’s remains have been left in our hospital morgue for 45 days or more until they are stacked to capacity at times.”
On at least one occasion, a body had liquefied and the bag burst when staff had attempted to move it, said Alissa McCurley, Kirk’s deputy chief of staff.
Kirk discussed firing Christopher Wirtjes, chief of Patient Administrative Services with Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs Bob McDonald and you already know the outcome of that discussion. McDonald was “non-committal” according to Kirk. They’re not taking care of living veterans, so why should they care about the dead ones?

The administrators of the VA can fuck up a wet dream… everything they are responsible for doing to help vets, they fuck up!
Nuke the DVA and start from scratch…
There are no words! Fucking disgrace!
It’s the Hines VA admin. Don’t blame the entire VA for that. Hines is a hell hole.
I agree. Some deserve the hate. Others don’t.
I think they need to figure out what makes some of them really good, then apply the lesson to the others.
One thing that bothers me is that some of the VAs have already “found” the answer, and and answers resulting from a little curiosity from the Washington level about this would do a lot of people a lot of good.
I still have eligibility to be treated for free by the VA since my last deployment, so the other day I get a muscle strain (very painful, but not serious) and off to the Columbia, SC VA hospital ER I go.
Six hours.
That’s how long it took for me to be seen. Then, barely able to stand, they wheeled me to the door, but refused to take me to my vehicle. “Most people have relatives that come with them,” said the attendant. I was working away from home, so I was out of luck. It took me another 10 minutes to hobble to my truck.
Hey, if that happens to me, someone here claim my body and then dump my ass in the Administrators front yard. I would be honored if he/she had to shovel up what was left of my ass.
Put a sign on the remains that says, “Dave wants you to kiss his ass…if you can find it now.”
What a great cause to use my corpse for.
I couldn’t do that to you Dave…the best I could do is claim you, have you cremated and spread your remains at nude beaches along the east coast so you’d still get on some cute little asses for some time to come.
It would be his luck that the beach would be the ballywack of middle-aged to older bald men like Bernath and the Round Ranger and he’d be tea bagged by them for eternity.
This is so disturbing I don’t have words…well I have words but they won’t actually help.
Why is it that we are so concerned about resettling some assholes who won’t even stand up and fight for their own muslim shithole but we seem to somehow have no time or money for those who actually fought for our great nation?
Somebody needs a beating and I hope it’s HRC that gets one in about 5 weeks.
I can’t even… This is me canting even. Forget firings… people need to hit jail for this shit.
Kratman is correct: Some crimes require two timbers, four nails, and a hammer.
The body of a service member LIQUIFIED?!?! How can someone sleep at night knowing they let that happen to someone who served their country?
Shit like this is seriously makes me want to leave this country when I retire
The phrase explained to me is “otherhuman”. Looks human. Talks human.
Ain’t human. Has no soul.
To the “otherhuman” you are at best an annoyance, probably seen as food, and at worst you are noisily entertaining food.
I dislike intensely the idea. But it so aptly explains much at the depths of the abyss.
Anyone wondering what gubmint controlled heath care will ultimately look like need only look at the VA. Is this really what anyone would want for their loved ones or themselves?
Sure, there are many good people working within the VA. And some clinics/hospitals are operating well. It doesn’t count for much when the one near wherever we live are not among them.
