Thursday morning feel good stories

| September 29, 2016

In New Orleans, Louisiana 73-year-old Abraham Venson was arrested after he shot at two copper thieves he saw running from his home. One of the thieves were wounded. It’s not clear if Mr Venson has been charged. A late breaking article says that police have arrested Mr Venson and his neighbors aren’t very happy with the prosecutor’s decision.

In Eddington, Maine, 42-year-old Christian Tattan was indicted for the time he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home to rekindle their love. When he broke down her bedroom door, her gun misfired, so he got into an altercation with the woman’s newest house guest while she secured another firearm and shot him with that one. Apparently, Tattan has six previous convictions for assault.

In Livingston Parish, Louisiana, an elderly woman was approached by 46-year-old Robbie Herpich who removed his trousers and shoes. The woman feared for her safety so she fired a warning shot at Herpich which struck him in the leg. He was found by police under a nearby home in the same state of undress.

You must shoot them when they are coming at you. Waiting until they are running away can get you arrested because the threat is no longer there.
Owning a gun that can misfire is not really smart. Have one that is more positive. My handguns of choice are revolvers, much more reliable than an inexpensive semi-auto type.
Tip #3, always fire warning shots at “center mass”. Shooting into the air, or into the ground could hurt an innocent person, or even yourself.

Not to mention ricochets from firing at the ground.

I myself prefer the revolver over the pistol, simply because the cylinder allows you to make it clear that it actually is loaded.

Repeated practice will improve your rate of accuracy, too.

I approve this message, revolvers are the absolute best for home defense.

If you have to shoot them in the back, simply tell the officer, that he was coming right for you and at the last minute when you pulled your weapon, the perp suddenly turned away from your fire! There, I fixed that for you. Always have your story ready for the popo.

Green Thumb

Here is one that does not feel good.

That ass clown Paul Reickhoff was on CNN this morning running his suck.

Expert on all; expert on nothing.

OldManchu

He hit ’em on the run?

Give that man a marksmanship award!

I’m not one to condone shooting a running perp, but that dude was 73 prolly with an adrenaline rush he hasn’t felt since his 20’s, and it was dark. I would believe if he thought they were coming toward him.

OldManchu

In Texas it’s legal to stop taking of property. Yes. Even when fleeing.

Usafvet509

All the more reason to relocate there. Once I’ve made Flight Paramedic, I’m hoping for a spot in coastal TX

Eden

Keep me posted, please.

42A Combat Clerk

I have little care for the life of a fleeing thief. My reservations come from the possibility of collateral damage due to an under trained marksman shooting at a moving target.

OldManchu

True. I believe a thief that gets away is emboldened to do it again.

42A Combat Clerk

I just believe stealing is a mental issue that can’t be rehabilitated.
