Tuesday morning feel good stories

| September 13, 2016

This morning we get the details of the Tulsa, Oklahoma story from yesterday. A woman went to the home of a 47-year-old man seeking money. When he wouldn’t give her any, her male friend came to the home and demanded money making gestures like he had a gun in his clothes. The 47-year-old felt threatened and shot him. He’s recovering from his non-life-threatening injuries.

Also, there’s an update from our Shawnee, Kansas story. The victim has been released from the hospital and the first good Samaritan is recovering after surgery. The thief, John Simmons III, is still dead -that’s unlikely to change.

Anthony James Lawson was caught breaking into a residence by a homeowner in Augusta, Georgia. The homeowner shot Lawson and he was DRT (dead right there).

Courdney Deonte Sims, 25, was shot after he robbed a store in Franklinton, Ohio. He walked into the store, showed his gun to the clerk and left with his loot. He was then shot by an unidentified person in the alley behind the store and he was DOT (dead over there) at the hospital. Police are looking for the unidentified shooter. I’m sure he’ll give himself up anytime now.

35-year-old Christopher Noland in San Angelo, Texas, forced his way into an ex-girlfriend’s home and began assaulting the people he found there. He was stabbed a few times by the new boyfriend. Police took him to to the hospital, but he checked himself out and returned to the scene of the crime to be arrested again.

Why do these simple minded types, (that would be the petty criminals), think that a burglary is worth losing their life over?
Those of us who value our lives, our limbs, our goods, and those of our family and friends are not putting up with these idiots.

things may have changed some since i worked in the prison industry-but a lot of really stupid and impulsive crime is done by people messed up on a combo of chemicals, usually a mixture of opiate based pain killers and alcohol, or amphetamine type drugs and alcohol. throughout the studies i saw in the 90s, alcohol was involved in about 80% of crimes. not saying that the chemicals alone caused the problem, just a factor in the mix.

I still work in the “prison industry” (where we joke that we’d love to have to shut down for lack of business, but know we have job openings until Jesus returns).

But – the factors haven’t changed. Some type of chemical is usually involved – except for the sex crimes. And I guess you could blame hormones, and those are chemicals, aren’t they?
