Monday morning feel good stories

| August 8, 2016

Two street criminals tried to rob a man and a woman in Jackson, Mississippi. They demanded money and got lead instead. The woman is in stable condition with gunshot wounds to her legs, but one of the criminals was shot in the chest and arm- he’s in serious condition.

In Laurel, Maryland, a criminal forced his way into a home in an invasion attempt. Unfortunately for him, the resident is a police officer of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission so the crook got shot in the arm as a result of his failure to accurately profile his intended victim.

A thief at a Family Dollar in Linneville, Ohio, was interrupted in that endeavor when the fellow he tried to rob turned out to have a concealed weapon license and shot the crook in the head. Police say both of the men fired, but only the licensed citizen hit his target. There’s no word yet on the criminal’s condition.

Criminals, sheesh. They still think that the few dollars, or the goods that they want to steal are worth their lives. They don’t often get accused of being intelligent.

the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission has armed cops. Is there really that many people trying to steal garbage?

Ex-PH2

Three for three today.

I do hope that the woman who got shot in the leg recovers completely.

Here’s a small additional ‘feelz good’ story. Last week, there was a news release that Reuters had fudged its polling numbers to show Clinton ahead of Trump.
Now, it seems that their polling tweaks have failed and the two are again ‘roughly’ even.

They must need some acetaminophen. I’ll get them a big bottle of it.

Why bother. Save your money. They deserve their headaches. They’ve given enough of them to everyone else.

HMC Ret

I’m thinking Reuters is suffering from major, painful butt burn. I recall their being honor among pollsters. Honor was really a big deal. Though sometimes incorrect in their analysis, they didn’t try to cook the books. (Well, at least not to my knowledge.) Today, not so much. There goes their reputation. Maybe Brian Williams is their numbers guy. If so, I would demand a recount of my fingers.

I just read yesterday that the truth was put out by someone in the CIA that Trump is something like 15 points ahead of the evil bitch ….of course our communist/moronic news media would NEVER post that information!

B Woodman

So how’s that Ohio crook? A shot to the head would either DRT/DOT, or it might improve him by releasing the vacuum between his ears.

B Woodman

Read through the story, says he’s in “unknown condition”. Like Schrodinger’s cat?

Hondo

Hopefully he passes quickly and saves the taxpayers of Ohio some coin on his long-term incarceration and care.

And for those that say the above statement is “un-Christian” – well, God often works in mysterious ways. Who am I to tell Him He cannot choose an armed law-abiding citizen as the instrument of his vengeance?

Weekend Warrior in Texas

Robbing someone that shops at a Dollar Store is pretty low & and stupid. Poor people that earn their little bit of money have a lot more incentive to hang on to it.The robber’s family should be required to reimburse the cost of the victim’s ammo.

Don’t mess with those sewer cops.

26Limabeans

Or the utility meter readers swat team.

Hack Stone

Finally, a cop that means it when he says that he works in the sewers of society.

Bill M

Sounds like a crappy job to me. He also needs range time – don’t they teach to aim for center mass?

Hack Stone

When he usually fires his weapon in the line of duty, he stands a good chance of the round ricocheting off of the sewer pipe.

No offense, but I think the first story summary in Jackson, Mississippi is a little off.

According to the linked article there were three people with gunshot wounds after the incident.

Laramie Collins and Kamehameha Brown were the victims in the robbery attempt and were fired upon by two suspects.

Commander Jones said Collins suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and arm and he’s listed in critical condition at UMMC. Brown suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and she’s listed in stable condition at UMMC.

Collins, for his part, managed to fire his weapon hitting one of the robbers, a slime named Orlando Williams.

Williams and his robbing buddy ran away but Williams was caught when he went to the hospital. He was treated, released and arrested. His buddy is still at large.

So it appears that the victims got the worst of this exchange and that is horrible. I can only hope that Colins and Brown recover quickly and suffer no ill effects of the encounter while Williams spends a long time in jail.

(It would be great if Williams’ partner was caught too.)

The linked article is really poorly written and is confusing as all get out so it is easy to see how the report here seems to be a little off.

I just wanted to let people know that the victims in this case suffered more than the buttwipes that attempted to rob, assault and eventually tried to kill them.

Woodstuff

Poorly written is an understatement. Thanks for the clarification.
