50 years reunion

50 years

CWORet. sends us this story of four Marines who went through training and the Vietnam War together. Their lives diverged after their return and then they decided to get together and recreate the 50-year-old picture above. You should go read the story at the link.

I’m on my way to the clinic in Morgantown for today, so you probably won’t see much from me.

Cripes. The guy squatting looks as good as he did 50 years ago. So, I hate him.

The years have also been kind to the guy standing in front of the board – other than his hair turning snow-white.

Awesome-I hope they had a happy reunion with lots of pictures of kids and grandkids.

The “board” is a “tanker” from back in the day. Nice that they are all still with us.

Gnarly. Remember when the best board wax around was canning paraffin?

Spoiler: Marines haven’t changed much in 50 years.

I didn’t think about it much until a few years ago, but I now regret not keeping in touch with my doc friends and teammates. It cracked me up seeing these guys’ pictures. The guy on the left is wearing the same style/color swimsuit I wore for pictures at China Beach when our company got a BBQ & swim break. No surf boards at China Beach, but the sea snakes hanging off the lifeguard towers were pretty cool.

Good for them. Well done.

So glad to read a positive story about these brave Brothers.

And yep, they look pretty darn good for their age.

And became successful in life after they returned.

Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Semper Fi and Salute!

Thanks CWORet for sending the story and to Jonn for posting.

Hope everything went well for you today,Jonn. Is your home finished?

CWORet

Thanks! I thought it was an awesome article to share. Glad I could contribute something positive rather than sniping at dirtbag posers for a change. Thanks for posting it Jonn!

Green Thumb

Awesome.

Just straight up awesome.

Way to go, men.
