KIAs In Afghanistan Identified

| December 23, 2015

Jonn and I each wrote earlier about the recent suicide bombing IVO Bagram that claimed 6 US personnel.  The identities of those individuals killed have now been released.  Those KIA were:

• Maj. Adrianna M. Vorderbruggen, 36, assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, 9th Field Investigations Squadron, Eglin AFB, FL.

• TSgt. Joseph G. Lemm, 45, assigned to the 105th Airlift Wing, Stewart Air National Guard Base, Newburgh, NY.

• SSgt. Louis Michael M. Bonacasa, 31, assigned to the 105th Airlift Wing at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York.

• SSgt. Michael A. Cinco, 28, assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, 11th Field Investigations Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, TX.

• SSgt. Chester J. McBride, Jr., 30, assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL.

• SSgt. Peter W. Taub, 30, assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Detachment 816, Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD.

Rest in peace, airmen.  May God comfort your surviving friends and family.

This adds to the total of KIA AF Cops from the 105th. SSgt TJ Lobracio was killed in Sept of 2013…rest in peace Defenders.

Also the two that were lost in the C130-J crash at Jbad October 2015.
Not forgotten.

That’s good copy, but they were deployed from Hanscom AFS in Mass. The 105th is a AF Reserve Wing out of NY.

The C130 accident Cops were fly away security and Active duty types.

We have lost 15 AF Cops since the GWOT began. Most to IEDs, one to sniper and the two to the 130 crash…

According to folks we know, Ssgt. Taub’s mother says that his wife is due with their second child.

My thoughts are with 6 families who are about to learn what Gold Star means. I pray they find some comfort among those who understand. May God grant them peace, someday, somehow, even for a moment now and then. It breaks me in two, each time we lower the flag in front of my house to half staff. I know, I know all they face and are going to, and the best I can do is offer my deepest, most heartfelt prayers.

Nothing I can say or do will lessen the pain of their loss to the families, associates and friends.
I hope and pray that God gives all of them the peace they so deserve.
Thank you to those that serve these days and Godspeed to those that perished.

Paz, my brothers.

It is small comfort knowing that the Chaplain staff at Stewart is one of the best in existence. My heart especially bleeds for them – so many losses over the years.
