ISIS claims that they beheaded a Russian spy

| December 3, 2015

Clay sends us a link to CNN which reports that ISIS has released a video in which they claim that they beheaded a Russian spy – a fellow who joined ISIS, but they decided that the boy ain’t right.

As the captive kneels before him in an orange jumpsuit, his killer says in Russian that the airstrikes ordered by Putin against the Islamist extremist group has “made us understand that we are doing right thing” by continuing their fight.

He then addresses the Russian people, saying, “You will not find peace in your homes. We will kill your sons … for each son you killed here. And we will destroy your homes for each home you destroyed here.”

CNN has admitted that they couldn’t verify the authenticity of the video or the message.

I think the murderers will live just long enough to regret this act of barbarism.

Something tells me they really don’t want to play this game with Comrade Vlad, assuming the victim in question really is a Russian.

Hondo

Agreed. The Russian government does seem to take it personally when one of their employees gets killed.

If it was local recruited as an agent, however, my guess would be they’ll just write it off as “the cost of doing business”.

Sorensen25

It was most likely a recruited local. The idea that intelligence services send in their professional officers to “blend in” with the populace is pure Hollywood fiction.

Vlad is a bad man… knows too many bad people.

I love to see people poke the Russian Bear…
They usually do regret their choices, kind of like the puke in A Clockwork Orange when he finally sees the light.

I watched the so-called beheading video. Nah. “Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia” did a much better job. The production included a 6-minute speech that made me want to do the guy myself. Gotta throw the BS flag on this one. Bear Productions, Inc.

With respect to this event, I believe that we will soon witness an example of strong leadership. It will not occur in the US. It may remind us of the time in the 80s when somebody kidnapped a Russian diplomat in Lebanon.

The Other Whitey

As I understand it, nobody in Beirut remembers who kidnapped and tortured that poor Russkie bastard, but they do remember why they’ve never done it again!

The Brits sent 8 fighters with expensive single target missiles to Syria to make a statement.

Here they go poking the bear again. They must be as one of my former CO’s said, “stupidicidal”!

Veritas Omnia Vincit

We’ll see how that works out for them over the long term…so far no one has taken this up a notch to the level required to eliminate the threat.

It remains to be seen whether or not anyone truly intends to step up and deal with this.

Perry Gaskill

Slightly off topic, VOV, but one of the notches being upped this week is the verbal duel between Putin and Turkey’s Erdogan. According to the Russians, Erdogan personally has benefited from the sale of black-market ISIS oil via the turkish president’s son who is head of their department of energy, and a player in the oil business.

Erdogan has countered by denying the accusation, and saying the Russians received ISIS oil. Something interesting is that the current Turkish stance is an apparent change from claiming previously they had no knowledge at all of black-market transfer of oil across the Syrian border. Nor, at least it seems to me, does it much matter who did what; what matters is that both say they see funding ISIS as a bad thing.

This could also be a risky turning point in forcing Turkey to pick a side it’s on instead of trying to play multiple sides at the same time.

The Other Whitey

As I’ve said before, the safe assumption is that they’re all lying.

John "Faker 6" Giduck

Trust me, there are easier ways to give head as a Russian spy.

Just ask me!

Uh, ‘Faker’, that’s BEHEAD. Not give head. Stay off the donuts for a while. Try the Bavarian cremes instead.

Think Faker 6 is a bit more attached to the Romanian Cream, myself…
