I was a little embarrassed to even check on this fellow, Michael Stein, but looking at his Facebook page, he claims to be a Lieutenant Colonel, but who knows which service, he pretends to be in all of them;
His “proof” is this certificate from the American Heart Association, I guess;
But, of course, none of it true, not even by a little bit;
He lives in the Falls Church, Arlington, Virginia part of the DC Metro area, so you folks at the Pentagon might run into him. I don’t think he’s too evenly balanced, though.

Just note: I had to MAKE my own camo. That’s right. I had to go find a pattern for the top and another one for the pants. I couldn’t find the right fabric, so I got some spray-dyed stuff at the fabric store and made my duck-hunting suit out of that. I couldn’t find any boots of the right kind that fit my itty-bitty feet, so I wore my old brown paddock boots.
I thought I looked pretty cool, too, until everyone who saw me fell down laughing.

If I passed Stein on the street (well, more like if I stepped over him on the sidewalk) I would say, “Now, there is a military officer!” Yep. That’s what I’d say.

I can confirm that. I live in Springfield, Virginia. Every time I drive down South Glebe Road in Arlington, I find a few. They are out in force every day at the intersection of South Glebe Road and Arlington Ridge Road just a hair North of the Alexandria / Arlington border. I’m surprised the police actually tolerate this.
And they nearly always have “GOD BLESS” on their signs as well, like the “Professional Homeless” types you see panhandling on streets and exit ramps.
Yeah – police recently advised Arlington residents not to give money to the panhandlers in the medians. Well, no shit, sherlock! Like there was any fuggin’ chance of that happening!
