Wednesday morning feel good stories
In Corpus Christi, Texas, Robert Smith thought, for some reason, that a homeowner was holding a woman as a prisoner and tried to force his way into the home that wasn’t his to search for her and he grabbed the homeowner by the throat. When Smith wouldn’t leave, Mr Homeowner threatened him with a gun, which didn’t deter Mr. Smith on his quixotic quest to rescue a non-existant woman. Two warning shots fazed him not in the least, but the final round into his leg seemed to do the trick.

A crutch and nature took out a criminal in Peoria, Illinois when a fellow tried to turn his life around with a brick through a homeowner’s window. The homeowner awoke at the sound and bopped the crook on the noggin with a crutch. Police found the criminal on the front lawn chattering incoherently. They tossed him in an ambulance and he was DOT down the road from cardiac arrest.
In Choctaw, Oklahoma, an off-duty cop went to check on a relative’s home while the relative was off on vacation. The home had been broken into and was in disarray, so the off-duty police officer entered and encountered an armed burglar who was made DRT on the spot.
In Mesquite, Texas, a convenience store clerk was confronted by three armed and energetic youths who tried to turn their lives around by stealing lottery tickets and cigarettes, but when they demanded money from the clerk, he fought back, wrested the firearm from the youngster and then shot him in the shoulder. The crooks took their weapon back and struck the clerk with it, unassing the AO. The wounded youngster was found in a field nearby and taken to the hospital while the search for his friends continues so they can be housed by the taxpayers.

One would think that the criminal element would learn that homeowners and shopkeepers are intent on keeping what is theirs.
No warning shots. The warning is verbal and if that isn’t clear enough, then I guess the discussion is over.
Time to regulate crutches and require they be registered!
I guess we aren’t quite the sheep we’re thought to be.
I’m particularly impressed by the creative and Jedi-like use of a crutch.
I like the second one. No gun used, no shots fired, yet still a DOT.
DOT via a crutch, NICE WORK, and it conseves ammo!!
FORE!
At the price of ammo,no warning shot from me. Either my big Rotty gyp or DRT or DOT. For really close work I will go get some clutches from one of my out bluidings . Naw, too old to fight just one of the handy firearms so Frankee can enjoy his Morning Coffee a little more. Joe
My guess is that the cardiac arrest in the crutch event was not caused by the bop on the head, rather it was an overload of one or more drugs in the DOT perps body. The erratic behavior of the DOT prior to the crutch strike points to some form of illicit chemical ingestion. But that is only a guess, I await the autopsy and toxicology screen results.
Mr. Homeowner in Texas needsto give up firing warning shots…when they guy has him by the throat? Seriously?
Perhaps he used to work at one of our State prisons and his training kicked in.
Our training required us to fire a warning shot when lethal force was authorized.
The training also stressed that the order of the warning shot and the shots directed at the offender was not important….As long as you had one more shell casing than the offender had bullet holes – all was good.
