Two injured when shots were fired at Little Rock AFB

| June 15, 2015

Fox News reports that shots were fired at the main gate of the Little Rock Air Force Base and that two folks have been transported to the hospital to treat their injuries and that one of those people wasn’t in the military.

According to Fox16, Jacksonville Police reported that someone without authorization tried to access the base.

KATV reports that the shooter wasn’t in the military.

KATV – Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

You might remember that jihadist Carlos Bledsoe killed one and wounded another soldier in Little Rock six years back when they were taking a smoke break from their recruiter duties. I’m not saying the two incidents are related, just reminding you.

UPDATE: KATV now says that the second person injured was a “bystander with unrelated injuries” whatevr the hell that means.

UPDATE 2X; From KATV;

LRAFB officials say at approximately 1:15 p.m., a white male crashed his vehicle over a curb into a street sign at the front gate of the base. He exited the vehicle holding a weapon. Two military security members guarding the gate were directly involved taking the suspect down, according to an LRAFB spokesman.

The suspect’s name has not yet been released. Base officials speaking to the media Monday afternoon say the motivation for the incident is unknown, but the FBI has determined the suspect was a “lone actor”.

Latest is the second injured was not shot, probably medical. The last time we went through the gate there was a very young female Airman 3rd on the gate and I thought back to when I was an unarmed 17 year-old Airman 3rd on the gate in England in 59′. I wondered if she was up to the task if a crazy tried to enter. More details will come out later today and thankfully none of the Security Forces were injured.

reminds me of the little LCpl, all of about 5’0″ 105 lbs standing the gate to housing on Lejeune. The muzzle of her M16 was almost dragging on the ground. After I showed I.D. and drove through, my Wife just tunred to me and said “Really? That is supposed to stop someone from getting on here?”. Gate Guards should be intimidating, presence is the first stage of threat deterrent.

I wonder if the perp was a wannabe jihadi or a nut job like the one in Texas?

Thunderstixx

Idiots…
I hope they got shot in the nuts and lost their manhood in the process…

Poetrooper

At 1:15 Central Time they’ve reopened the base according to local newsies and the wounded perp is in custody. Nothing about his identity or motive has been released.

B Woodman

Probably means he’s either/both of the LSDMs unspeakable protected class:
-an “african-American” (lower case on purpose)
-a muzzie jihadist.

Big Steve

My first guess was that it was another of these black, American, self-styled muzzies. But it seems it was some white loser.

RazorbackStrong

A well placed source at the hospital says ol boy is brain dead & about to cancel Christmas. Shame. No word on nationality or religious affiliation.

…Security Forces teaches very good firearm handling, and I am interested in hearing the distance between the SF and the perp – back in ’94, a nut got loose at the Fairchild AFB hospital with an AK. He took down a child and one other person, and the first SF on the scene drew down on him with his M1985, told him to drop it, and when he didn’t, put 2 of four into his head, and one in his shoulder.

From 210 feet away.

According to the (brand new) Wing Commander, the perp was heading towards the visitors center. I would say the range from the two security forces defenders and the perp was 50′ or less since one stands at the gate house and the other in the center of the two lane in. The curb on the right would probably be the one he jumped to hit the sign then exited in their clear line of sight with a weapons. The technical term for people that dumb is “deceased”. Then, how about Colonel Brown pinning a medal on these two brave airmen.

We had a similar event a few weeks back here at Ft Benning. It was just odd. Two cars rushed a barricade. They were both stopped, the first car opened fire on the second car and then all individuals in the first car ran on post. The ensuing search found nothing but the operator of the second car was apprehended. According to the second cars driver, the first car was his and had been stolen by the perps that shot at him. He was chasing them in an attempt to get it back.

You couldnt make this shit up.

Green Thumb

Were they from across the river?

19D2OR4 - Smitty

No idea.

If the Federal Bureau of Intimidation has determined that this was a “lone actor,” I’d be searching for more people.

What? You don’t take the word of the Famous But Incompetent? And yeah, I’d be searching for more people, too.

2/17 Air Cav

White male? Racist, sexist bastards! Oh. Wait on that. Turns out that it’s okay, according to the “Leftist Writer’s Style Book”

“Do not identify the race, ethnicity, or religious affiliation of a suspected perpetrator of a crime unless the suspected perpetrator is a white male and a non-Muslim.”

I thought it funnier than hell that the Wing Commander used the word “Caucasian” several times in describing the perp. Given recent events can’t say as I blame him. Pretty young looking for a full bird.

Pinto Nag

I once saw a patient identified as a Caucasian of European extraction — born and raised about 30 miles from the hospital he was being admitted to.

So much for the American melting pot.

Instinct

Hey, that’s sexist and racist to identify him as a white male. What if he self identifies as a black female, or maybe an Asian eunuch?

A Proud Infidel®™

Or a double-jointed transgendered buck-toothed redheaded Latvian Dwarf?

jonp

So The FBI has already determined that it was a “lone actor” the same day and without speaking the the perp? Wow, too bad they were not this on the ball investigating, gee I don’t know, illegal computer servers or IRS Officials.

How the hell do they know it was a lone actor already????

A Proud Infidel®™

I’m surprised the Feebies haven’t alleged that he was a member of the NRA and Tea Party, maybe they just haven’t done that YET, and I’m sure some sniveling blithering lamestream bedwetter will say so soon enough.

Meanwhile in other news…there was a serious shark attack off the coast of North Carolina. FBI officials on scene have determined it to be a “lone actor” event. No ties have been found between the shark, currently being questioned, and ISIS or Al-Qaeda. More to follow.

A Proud Infidel®™

“…In the meantime, authorities are trying to determine if the shark is also a member of the NRA and the Tea Party, stay tuned to the Propaganda Broadcast System!”

MK75Gunner

NBC News is reporting that they’ve found a Mr. I. M. AShark, or IMA SHARK listed as a member of the local tea party affiliate in Wilmington, NC. No word yet if this is the same SHARK that was involved in the incident….

Update at 3:51 CDT –

According to Cpt. Wolf with the Little Rock Fire Department, FBI and the LRFD Bomb Squad are searching a home on Maddox Road in Jacksonville in connection with a shooting incident at the Little Rock Air Force Base on Monday morning.

AW1Ed

Heard on XM-Radio the attacker exited his vehicle armed with a long gun, no description as to type. Nice job by security!

Messkit

Every major, and minor, military base/post USED TO have a good concrete barrier chicane in front of every entrance point. After 9/11, it was a real pain in the ass to get on base….and more than a few scraped fenders.

Currently…EVERY major, and minor, military base has an easily defeated entrance point, with minimal, or no, chicane or barrier system.

Yes, it should be slow and difficult to get to the main gate. For these obvious reasons.

Main entrance point to Balad Airbase, was fronted by 1/4 mile of 12′ Texas barriers, huge speed bumps, search dogs, X-ray machines, and no less than 7 heavy machine guns, including a MK-19, and a very powerful camera that could see clearly, night and day, anything close or far, from 5m to over 10km. And that was just for Coalition personnel! Locals had another 1/4 mile of body and vehicle inspections, searches, and another X-ray machine as they slowly traversed through more Texas barriers.

Funny though. In the middle of a war zone, with thousands of bad guys around us that wanted to get on base really really badly…..NOBODY with evil intent got through.

Can’t say that about American bases in America.

Poetrooper

C’mon, Messkit, give these kids their due. Armed only with handguns, they took on a perp with a long gun and seriously screwed up his day.

What I’d be curious to know if there’s an AR or a street-sweeper in that gatehouse.

MK75Gunner

They definitely did the job. However there is something to be said for the greater point of how easy it is to drive up to quite a number of Military bases main and ancillary gates with out having to noticeably slow down. The Navy base by my house has armed, civilian guards checking ID’s. But I find it disconcerting the manner in which they’re now doing it. Theses guys are holding a scanner in one hand to scan the ID and as you hand your ID to them they are spending the whole time holding your ID with one hand and the scanner with the other all the while staring down intently at the little read out screen. Even my wife said what the hell are they doing, you could literally pull out a weapon and shoot and this guy wouldn’t ever have a chance or you could just haul ass onto the base once he’s occupied with this. Just seems like situational awareness is not good.

MK75Gunner

And just to further it there are vehicles that are lined up bumper to bumper behind each other as this is going on. The situation described in the Little Rock incident could have easily been successful in causing some casualties had he been in a vehicle behind the one at the gate getting checked in the scenario described above.
