Stolen Valor in Australia
The day before ANZAC Day, two police offers saw this fellow at MacDonald’s in Robina, Australia. One of the police officers was also a 20-yeteran and a sergeant of the Australian Armed Forces and noticed several discrepancies on this yahoo’s uniform;
The 41-year-old man failed to produce a military ID, but claimed he was a Navy diver for seven years, and that he was in the process of discharging from the Army.
A brief investigation discovered that he had never served in the Navy, and was only an Army recruit for 2 months before being discharged almost a year ago. The man’s uniform was taken, and he was charged with impersonating a Commonwealth Officer. He faces a possible two years in jail.

Why do these assholes always pull out their phones? Big fucking deal, you have some pictures of you posing in uniform like the Cop is gonna say “Oh, sorry Mate, didn’t realize you had pictures, on your way then”. No dude, as soon as you tell me you don’t have your ID card on me it’s almost always a wrap. Been carrying both active and now retired ID for 35 years. Never remember “forgetting” not to carry it.

Australia got a nice simple law “Impersonating a Commonwealth Officer”.
It would be easy for our States and Federal Government to enact the same. You pretend to be a Goverment official and wear the uniform ( or have fake credentials ) you get arrested.
Just like most of the big dummy posers here in the USA.
Often it’s simple uniform mistakes that get them unwanted attention from real vets.
