Friday morning feel good stories

| February 6, 2015

Our first story comes from Pennsylvania where real gun always beats pellet gun;

Investigators say a 67-year-old man was walking on a path when the suspect ran up and demanded cash.

“He hears somebody running behind him. As he turns around, he sees a masked man with a gun pointed at him saying, ‘Give it up, give me all you got,” said Supt. Michael Chitwood, Upper Darby Township Police.

However the intended victim grabbed the suspect’s gun.

During the struggle, police say the victim pulled out his own weapon and fired one shot striking the attempted robber in the head, killing him.

The victim does have a concealed weapons permit.

The next story comes from North Carolina;

Saturday evening, the owner of a video poker business at 420 Raleigh St. was walking to his car when men with guns walked toward him, according to police. Bullets were exchanged and one of the alleged robbers, 38-year-old Frankie Stukes of Wilmington, was hit. Police found his body alongside the building about 10 p.m.

Wilmington Police Department Detective Kevin Tully said Wednesday the robbery victim ran back inside his business – Bourbon Street Amusement – for safety. Tully said the man, who has not been publicly identified, did not know he had shot anyone until police told him.

“It’s pretty cut and dry,” Tully said. “He was on private property and he was approached by gunmen who tried to take his money. As far as we’re concerned, that was justifiable use.”

The last story comes from Florida;

The homeowner, David Como told Channel 9 that he was in bed when he heard a noise. Como said he found a man in his garage.

Como said he took his gun and fired 6 “non-lethal” shots at the man, hitting him

“He run off, I shot him a few more times, like I said, nonlethal, it just hurts,” said Como. “I saw him fall in the driveway, so I went to get another gun because I shot all the bullets out the first one.”

According to Como, the man then jumped into Como’s truck and drove away.

“He was coming out of the driveway as I was coming out the front door and the deputy had just pulled up and he tried to run over the deputy. The deputy pulled up right as he was leaving the driveway with the truck,” Como said.

He’s still on the loose because firing non-lethal bullets at them is to their advantage not yours.

Two quick lessons: Never bring a pellet gun to a real gunfight. Never load your gun with non-lethal rounds, because it just pisses them off and could get you dead, because the bad guys don’t use non-lethal rounds.

Why in hell anyone would have “non-lethal” bullets in their home defense weapon is beyond my comprehension. Every weapon inside my place is loaded with the MOST lethal bullets that I can find for each weapon.

Head shot for the win!

That old man had skills.

Two out of three ain’t bad, but why anyone would want to load their weapons with non-lethal rounds is beyond me. If I were to carry a firearm for self-defense, I’d have it locked and loaded with some vicious hollow point rounds!!

It sure is refreshing to see sane comments during my morning readings. Not that I’ve ever visited this site…

“Non-lethal” rounds are lethal to the private citizen foolish enough to use them. Last I checked, we don’t have to practice EOF when our lives and property are in jeopardy. The days of Old Man Jones using rock salt shells to scare away kids stealing his apples are gone. Today, those kids may be carrying weapons themselves, as these Feel Good Stories demonstrate.

I keep a shotgun loaded with 00 buck next to the chair, since I have no desire to be outgunned in case of a home invasion. Handguns are all loaded with JHPs, and my next purchase will be a .44 Magnum, since I still miss the .357 but believe that bigger is better.

If I need to use something “non-lethal”, I’ll improvise. Got plenty of shop chemicals, bludgeoning instruments, and e-tools.

Finally – a “dumbass crook with fake gun meets citizen with real one” story.

Predictable outcome, and good riddance.

Silentium Est Aureum

I see the resident troll is at it early this morning.

Sad he can’t stay in topic.

Finally, agreed with the whole “non-lethal” round bit. What exactly was the purpose of that, again?

Dunno whut non-lethal means. I have used birdshot rounds on my pistol. (sucks, metal empty will not eject from my 45…..too long.) good idea for survivalists, but made for a revolver.
Maybe he lives in town and uses shot shells or pellet gun for possum/ coon/ rabbit, etc.
Did you know that Lewis and Clark carried air rifles on their expedition to the Pacific?

One shot one kill for the old fart.
Don’t fuck with us old bastards, we are grouchy as hell and ISIS better never hope that any of us get a hold of them. They will wish that we only set them on fire…
There are lots of fun ways to kill an ISIS !!!
And WTF with the non-lethal rounds. That guy will probably come back and be prepared for them or will blab it to his friends telling them that he is an easy mark.
Two down, one left…
