Scout’s out
I’m terrible at announcing this kind of news, so I’ll let Blackfive do it.
Yes, the news is not something that I wanted to have to share. After surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain (surgery was the only option), Rob passed away this morning.
Keep checking the Yllescas family blog for updates.

Damn. I am really sad for their family. In her blog, she said she hoped Rob would be taken in surgery if that was the way it was to be. He fought the good fight. Praying for them all.
Big. deep. breath.
Jonn, thank you for posting this.
Yes, a very sad and somber time. Rob was incredibly well respected and liked both in the civilian and military circles of his life. Another hero has gone to heaven and America has lost a great citizen.
My deepest sympathies to Dena and their daughters as well as the extended family. My heart if very heavy today.
Rest well Rob. Rest well.
I didn’t know this Hero. He and his family are in my family’s thoughts and prayers.
RIP
Sadly, this is the third situation like this that I’ve been aware of in the past three months.
I can’t imagine what the families feel.
I left this on her blog:
Damn. Just Damn.
Well, looks like another good Soldier has reported for duty at Saint Peter’s Gate. My thoughts are with you and your family through this difficult time, Dena.
Take care.
Rest easy, Captain.
