Jimmy Janos goes back to court
So, nutty-ass Jesse Ventura has decided that his settlement in the case in which he sued a grieving widow wasn’t enough. He’s going after the publisher of Chris Kyle’s “American Sniper” book, Harper Collins, too, according to the Washington Post;
According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Ventura’s new lawsuit claims that publicity created by Kyle’s telling of the incident — a 2006 bar fight in which Kyle said he punched a celebrity in the face for making disparaging remarks about the military — “increased sales” and generated “millions of dollars for HarperCollins.” Kyle didn’t identify the celebrity as Ventura in “American Sniper,” but he did so in subsequent media interviews.
I’m sure that Ventura’s reputation suffered greatly from those few paragraphs in the book – it couldn’t have been his wild conspiracy theories or his stupid complaints about the media.
Category: Dumbass Bullshit
Fuck this guy. I heard that he lives in Mexico so hopefully he’ll step on his crank down there and get tossed in a Mexican prison. It’s very easy for Americans to get in trouble down there….just sayin’.
Mustang1LT…LT Sir, I couldn’t wish for better for him myself. Jesse Ventura doing Wrestle Mania in a Mexican Prison court yard for sex and the entertainment of the inmates guards. Now that’s…show biz. I’d do pay per view to see that.
When people stop giving into this obnoxious bully, someone please let me know.
It occurred to me a while back that he would walk into a restaurant during a slow period, with maybe three customers minding their own business, and decide those people have the choicest seats and then go into a screaming fit when he can’t have them… because they’re occupied.
A few paragraphs in the book is longer than Jimmy Janos (Bone Smuggling Scum) time in combat as a Navy Seal.
SUCK IT!
This guy just needs to get over himself.
I get the feeling he is just showing his understudy, Joe Teti, the ropes.
Time to send him to North Korea.
Someone needs to explain to Jimmy what the Streisand effect is.
He’s going to be remembered as fondly as “Hanoi Jane” Fonda at this rate!! Mexico is well known for its Government corruption, maybe it’s only a matter of time until he gets arrested down there with them expecting him to bribe his way out!!
It’s hard to believe that that guy is such a bad person he can’t be redeemed and brought back into the SEAL community. I just wrote half a book, then deleted it because I lack credibility in your brotherhood. Y’all should grow up and build a bridge.
I have no contact with the man, but I’ve heard, very distantly, that attempts were made to talk with him. Not really over the Chris Kyle suit, but before that. Something has happened in that man’s head, and he’s turned on the men he once called brothers. I don’t think there are any bridges left that can be built in this case. It’s sad, but it does happen.
Not trying to call you out, more offer a helpful suggestion: You may want to do a little research on his recent exploits on here before you suggest “welcoming him back into the SEAL community”. Also many of us aren’t SEALs (know a few but never have been, or claimed to be one my self. I’m a zoomie not a squid). That being said if you want to write a book I would say go for it, but be sure to do your homework. There are plenty of people on here that would probably be willing to assist or give you a few contacts to help you get the details right.
Mr. Janos’ behavior is not a single event, mistake or accident, it is a pattern. I have a low tolerance for proven jackasses. I am not the only person like that.
If Mr. Janos is having trouble, I think that he needs to look at his own behavior before trying to sue other people.
You have a right to your opinion but I am going to need a lot of convincing.
I had always thought that in order to sue someone for damaging your reputation, you had to first show that you had a good reputation before it was allegedly damaged.
Ventura/Janos has been a clown ever since his stint as MN governor so it’s hard to see how someone else could damage his reputation worse than he has damaged it by his own looney public statements.
He was a clown before he was Governor. He was causing trouble when he was Mayor of Brooklyn Park, also.
A little insight on Janos; he’s in it for himself. The reason he ran for mayor was because of a dispute with the city over the area in front of his house. He didn’t like the fact that license plates for his Porsche were really expensive, so he started complaining about it on his radio show and then decided to run for Governor because a few people swooned when he talked about it.
He was challenged, as mayor, by others, because they claimed he didn’t actually live in Brooklyn Park and that he only kept a mail slot inside city limits while living n his horse farm in Maple Grove. Then, as Governor, he was berated, because he used the Governor’s Mansion as a part time residence while he lived out at his horse farm. His son threw a party at the mansion, where there was underage drinking going on, etc., while Janos wasn’t even there, but rather out at his other home.
Janos doesn’t do anything unless there’s something in it for him.
Nothing sadder than a sorry ass old man grasping for a few more minutes of the spotlight at the expense of a widow and her children….
As he said it was never about the money it was about repairing his good name it’s obvious that was a lie. If it was never about the money when he won his court case he could have simply said, “I have been proven correct, but I will not enrich myself at the expense of a dead man and his estate. That is why I am settling for $1 and the public result of the trial.”
But he didn’t do that he took the money and now he’s looking to take some more money.
Whatever credibility may have ever been associated with this man, for me there was never credibility attached to a man who participated in a scripted “sporting event” (which is a nice name for fabricated outcomes not based on reality), is clearly gone at this point.
Mr. Ventura/Janos is reaping the karmic benefits he has accrued over these many decades of involvement in fake sports, political hackery, and outright bullshit conspiracy theory programming. You are not only known by your words, but also by your deeds.
I’m not a religious man, but I do read the Bible and I am reminded of Matthew and the story of a tree and its’ fruit:
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? … A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
I think we know which tree and fruit Mr. Ventura is producing.
The wind blew, the shit flew, then he talked. The man made a living as a blow hard. Damn shame we never crossed paths. If I had a dollar for every time someone claimed to have kicked my ass, I could pay the man. There are a few that can actually make that claim, I just try not to be a pussy about it. Little Jimmy here is a classic example of a bloated ego that started festering with age. Every time I hear his name there is something rancid about it. Someone should have lanced that boil he calls a reputation before it went septic.
I just heard the other day from a firsthand source that the Janos/Kyle incident did in fact take place almost exactly as Chief Kyle described it–apparently the only discrepancy was that Kyle actually left out a couple of Janos’s douchier moments.
I didn’t even know I was talking to such a source until an ad for the movie came on TV and he mentioned it. Funny what a small world it is.
With all of the fakes and posers and other bullshit out there, and being as small and as tight a community as they are, It has got to take a GOD-LIKE level of stupidity to get them to turn on one of their own.
I blame the steroids. They keep proving that that garbage causes brain damage.
Dunno about that, propsguy. Word from years ago was that James Janos (AKA Jesse Ventura) was flaky when he was UDT. His brother was reputedly the squared away one.
Fuck. That. Guy.
I never would have known who Chris Kyle was talking about if Janos hadn’t opened his mouth and told me.
I agree royh, I wasn’t paying attention until he started grabbing headlines. The last few years I’ve become ambivalent to the whole SEAL thing, hey I a respect what they do but lately it has become
NAVY SEALS, ,the book
NAVY SEALS, The Movie
NAVY SEALS, The Lunch box
NAVY SEALS, the flame thrower, ( very popular with the kids)
So usually stories about them just bounce these days.
Nice Spaceballs reference.
I also like NAVY SEALS the Breakfast Cereal. and NAVY SEALS the Blanket.
My only regret is that nothing he has done would qualify for the annual Stolen Valor Tournament. HOWEVER I will make a slight point of order and note that the annual tournament is actually called the: “Blue Falcon Stolen Valor Tournament”, SO maybe we could have or should include him next year since I can’t think of a more spot light hungry and media grabbing “Blue Falcon”. Suing a widow was a new low, even for him.
Then again maybe we could split the Tournament? have one in the summer for Blue Falcons and one in the Winter for Stolen Valor scum?
But it’s TSO’s gig so it would be his call.

Here’s an idea. The Motion Picture Academy occasionally gives out “special achievement” or “lifetime achievement” awards. Why not whip one up for Ventura?
Actually, for a brief period of time following his rassling career, he blamed old combat related injuries for his “retirement” from the ring. Until someone pointed out that one must first see and be involved in combat ops to be combat injured. He changed his story after that…
I never read Scruff-Face’s bullshit book, but back in high school (circa 2000) a friend of mine was reading it and showed it to me. It included several pictures of Jimmy Fucknuts all face-painted and holding a weapon in what looked like the back of a molester van, with captions by Janos claiming that they showed, “…me preparing to insert by helicopter into Vietnam for a highly-classified combat mission.” Seeing as how it’s been verified that Scruff-Face was in fact UDT and not a SEAL, and that he never even got close enough to Vietnam to even see the shoreline, I’d say that sounds like stolen valor to me.
Jesse “The Douchebag” Vetura rides again… he should’ve gotten on The Exendables bandwagon instead.
He will never, ever be in The Expendables.
Why not? I regard him as eminently expendable. In fact, I think he should expend himself immediately to rural central Mexico (or another similarly remote location) and never be heard from again.
There are so many better choices:
Carl Weathers
R. Lee Ermey
Jim Caviezel
Jackie Chan
Sammo Hung
Harvey Keitel
Steven Seagal
Tom Berenger
Danny Trejo
Robert DeNiro
Al Pacino
Willem Dafoe
Charles Bronson’s ghost
Steve McQueen’s ghost
Bruce Lee’s ghost
Michael Biehn
Ernie Hudson
Michael Madsen
Sonny Chiba
Lee Marvin’s ghost
Paul Walker’s ghost
The cast of “Fury”
The cast of “Hawaii Five-O”
The cast of “Generation Kill”
The cast of “Glee”
Johnny Depp
Nicholas Cage (ducks)
Miley Cyrus
Hell, I’d rather see some creepy-ass Carebears-My Little Pony shit in the next Expendables than Scruff-Face.
Please re-read my comment above, noting that I did not capitalize “expendable”. I wasn’t exactly referring to a motion picture. (smile)
Sonny Chiba? Oh hell yes!
janos…..once a POS, always a POS.
Somethings never change.
JJ puts the “Triple D” in “Double-ended dumb-ass Dildo”.
I wonder if perhaps Ventura hasn’t perhaps jumped the shark, tactically speaking, this time around. I mean, suing the widow/estate of the guy who showed a barroom full of guys what a craven pussy you are once he’s safely dead and can’t counter anything you say about the events in question is one thing. Siccing your attorney on a publishing house with the financial means to keep some pretty high-powered legal talent of their own on retainer is another kind of warfare entirely. Extend that out to the Hollywood production house that’s releasing American Sniper- the movie this Christmas (which I don’t doubt for a moment Ventura would hesitate to draw into his gold digging expedition if the box office take proves the effort worth it), and I suspect that shortly after Ventura draws back his proverbial bloody stump, he’ll find that he’s lost himself even the money he won from the Kyle estate as his attorney presents the Dumbass with the bill for his ego trip.
I sure hope one or two of Chris Kyle’s team mates is around to catch that priceless moment on video when it happens: I alone would probably spend enough watching it over and over on pay-per-view that Mrs. Kyle might just recoup most of what Jesse the Douche “liberated” from her.
It seems also that, where ever he goes, he has a filming crew with him. Probably what’s keeping some people from beating the pulp out of what’s left of his brain.
Granted, if there was ever a community who could “exit” him without anyone knowing, he sure did pick his enemies as top of that list.
Just watched the interview with Taya Kyle… what a class act. Might be of interest that she says the insurance company only paid $500K of the $1.8 million. So the balance came from her and the foundation… and now JJ is going back for more.
A great news article written by a former Teamguy (BUD/S Class 38) and Vietnam Combat Veteran, which explains in detail the difference between UDT and SEAL *in that specific era* and also takes a very close insider’s look at James Janos.
The writer had Phil Bucklew (look him up) as a mentor – I cannot describe with words how amazing that is.

Very interesting article to read. Thanks for posting the link to that.
According to that, it would seem that Jesse the Douche needs to be in this tournament.
Wow! Thanks for posting this!!! This is a must read.
Here is another one. Interesting perspective.
http://cursor.org/venturawatch/dangerous_game.htm
Yep. Guys who served at the same time as Janos don’t appear to consider him a SEAL – UDT only. UDT and SEAL were different NECs during Vietnam, were based in different locations, and did different things entirely.
They also say Janos could have voluntarily transitioned from UDT to SEAL any time he wanted to. Only Janos knows why he never did.
Yes, Janos went thru BUD/S – all UDTs and SEALs of that era did. But it would seem Vietnam-era SEALs don’t exactly consider Janos one of their number because he never served as a SEAL.
Please make certain to note ‘in that specific era’.
The UDT Frogs in Korea conducted raids inland/OTB, demolition, etc. On more than one occasion they ran joint ops with the Brits Royal Marine Commandos. Serious badasses, very hard dudes.
In some ways they were doing SEAL-type ops long before SEALs existed – inland (demo) raids certainly fall under the umbrella of DA.
The comparison in that article was caused by a special situation brought on by the book and media claims of Janos himself, and the hoisting of the BS flag was done by a Teamguy from the same era, which is as it should be.
He is a dipshit for sure but the jury in his last trial on this agreed with him so he is within his rights to go after the publisher. Is it right? No but that is our court system. You can’t pick and choose when to like it or not. It is what it is. Everyone is entitled to his/her day in court
True. And OJ Simpson was found not guilty of the crime of murder, too.
Juries sometimes make mistakes, especially when “celebrities” are involved and the trial is in the celebrity’s “back yard”.
And, actually – you CAN pick and choose when to agree with a court decision. They remain legally binding regardless, but NO ONE can be forced to “like” an obvious miscarriage of justice.
And once he blows through this bundle of cash, what will he do?
You don’t have to be a phony SV claimant to be an unutterably despicable clodpole like Janos.
What is he going to do when the movie is released? Keep people out of movie theaters? I’d go see it just to piss him off, even better if it’s a double feature with the Fatty Kim III movie.
Doesn’t this f***tard qualify for a Stolen Valor spot by now? He’s actually freaking STEALING it from a dead hero.
I think what bothers me most is that Chris donated his portion of the proceeds of American Sniper to help support the families of his fallen teammates and Janos is taking money away from the intended beneficiaries.
With the murder of Chris and his friend Chad you have two more widows and more orphans to be supported. Which makes Janos’ actions even more reprehensible IMO.
What’s next? Is he going after the movie profits too?
But “it’s not about the money”, right Janos?
The longer the SEAL community takes to publicly denounce and ostricize his ass the lower my respect for SEALs will be. It’s already pretty low having worked with them in the past so maybe no great difference.
It’s one thing to take a Enlisted Mans widow to court and claim a victory over someone without the financial resources to defend themselves. It’s quite another to go after one of the largest publishers in the world, with the kind of money that goes along with being a Multi-national Conglomerate. Douche bags days are numbered.
Wow, first Chris, now Clint. Wish Janos would vacation in Syria and really go off the grid.
