Monday morning feel good stories
We get our feel good stories from Chief Tango again, the first coming from Wyoming;
The suspect, who has not yet been identified by police, entered the pharmacy at about 9:45 Saturday morning and demanded narcotic pain pills, Police Chief Brian Kozak said.
The man, described only as a white male, was “brandishing what the employees believed to be a firearm,” Kozak said. The weapon was ultimately determined by police to be a very realistic-looking toy gun.
“The pharmacist then pulled out a firearm – a handgun, a revolver – and shot the suspect once in the chest,” Kozak said.
The next story comes from Georgia;
Police accused Eric Bernard Monts Jr. of attempting to rob a woman and she shot him. The 20-year-old suspect is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The next is from California;
[Lt. Andre Hill] said police found one black man who had been shot in his upper torso area and was in critical condition.
The shooting victim was transported to John Muir Hospital, where Hill said his status is still listed as critical.
Hill said police have not positively identified the man.
Police believe the homeowner confronted the man who was in the process of taking or had taken some items from the house or yard, Hill said.
The homeowner is cooperating fully with detectives on the scene, Hill said.
The last story comes from Florida;
The deputy, identified as Jessie Holton, was alerted by another resident of burglaries in progress. While violently resisting arrest, Holton responded to the threat, discharging his firearm, and hitting McCloud.
Police said Holton lives in the neighborhood.
Police said McCloud was taken to the hospital with serious injures but is expected to recover.
McCloud, who was arrested just days before for carrying a concealed firearm by convicted felon, has an extensive arrest record. McCloud is facing multiple charges in the incident including several burglaries in the Foothill Drive area and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, officials said.
Category: Feel Good Stories
This is possibly the worst godawful reporting I have ever seen, to wit:
‘The deputy, identified as Jessie Holton, was alerted by another resident of burglaries in progress. While violently resisting arrest, Holton responded to the threat, discharging his firearm, and hitting McCloud.’
‘Police said Holton lives in the neighborhood.’
What? Was Holton the deputy? If so, why was he resisting arrest? Who is McCloud? Wasn’t he a TV detective on a horse, or something?
If this crappy, confusing piece of work is what is coming out of our public school system, we should ask for a refund of our taxes. This is ridiculous. It is twaddle printed in a newspaper. (I use the term ‘print’ because newspapers used to be print copy on newsprint.)
I will write a lettre of protest to the editor of that newspaper and make sure you all get a copy. This moronic reporter’s sloppy work needed editing badly but no one paid any attention, and this is the result. Not saying I’m perfect, but FFS, this is inexcusable.
Yeah, I had a problem with that portion, too. I had to read it five times to make sure it was a feel good story.
Heeheehee! 🙂
Tell us how you really feel, Ex-PH2. You know you shouldn’t bottle up your feelings,
Seriously though, I read it four times just to make sure what the hell they were trying to say. Maybe it was ‘Take your kid to work day” and they let their six year old write it.
Instinct: <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Ex-PH2…Thank you m’lady! I thought it was just me having trouble.
What really hacks me is reporters referring to a bad guy as a “shooting victim.” Victim status requires a perpertrator, and that means the good guy in the stories.
