Monday morning feel good story

Police line

Chief Tango sends us a link to our feel good story this morning. It comes from Pennsylvania;

The suspect, described as a white man about 6 feet tall weighing about 200 pounds, entered the home through an unlocked back door and went to the master bedroom, where he came upon a man in the home.

As the burglar walked toward the victim while pulling an item out of his pocket, the resident ran to get a shotgun and fired one round that missed the intruder, who fled into the woods behind the home, state police said.

I’m sorry, but I don’t know how to miss with a shotgun. Dude is in some serious need of range time.

Well, yes – definitely needs range time. But maybe he was just firing the shotgun off the balcony.

Yeah, lots of skeet shooting. I have no idea how he could miss with a shotgun !!!
Damn, too bad he missed, I am sure that the guy has other bad deeds in his past.
Hopefully he will take the prodding and turn his life around now.
Make his Momma proud !!!

The only way you miss with a shotgun in a confined area is if you intend to miss.

Pennsylvania – haven’t hunted there in several years, but this guy may have had a slug in the chamber instead of the more useful OO Buck, or a #4 load. Hell, even a #8 would have been good at close range.

Take a shotgun out and fire it at a close range target and look at the size of the pattern. At distances under say 10 yards, you may as well be shooting a rifle, especially with a tighter choke. That’s assuming a 30 foot room – most are considerably smaller.

He didn’t want to ruin his rug.
