Saturday morning feel good story

Police line

Yet another feel good story from Chief Tango, this time it’s from New Mexico;

A deputy had just stopped a driver nearby when he heard the shots around 6 p.m. He rushed to the Dairy Queen at 427 Isleta SW, south of Bridge Boulevard, and found a man outside the restaurant with gunshot wounds, according to BCSO spokesman Sgt. Aaron Williamson.

“It does appear at this point it was a robbery gone wrong,” Williamson said.

Williamson said the man went to the Dairy Queen’s window with a gun and demanded money. The cashier gave him money and ducked behind the counter. The man then asked for more money. That’s when a different restaurant employee, “in fear of his own life,” fired at the robber, he said.

The man was struck at least once and died after being transported to University of New Mexico Hospital.

[…]

No restaurant employees were injured during the incident, Williamson said. They were sheltered in place and locked the business down until deputies arrived.

Suddenly, I feel the need for a Blizzard.

My home town. Nice to see the range time for them paid off. Also seems like they had a plan in place for this sort of thing with the one employee ducking down to give the other a clear line of fire.

A robbery at a drive up window eh. Well at least the gene pool was cleaned a little. Hope it hadn’t reproduced yet. “So that’s a large soft serve cone and German Chocolate Blizzard, plus all the money in the till? You want a .45 with that or 3 9MMs? We got both.”

Sparks, if the failed hold-up man was over 16, I’m pretty sure he’s reproduced, two times or more. Fortunately, no mas!!

In the real world you actually CAN receive a death penalty for armed robbery. And there is NO appeal!
