Iran’s troops on the front lines in Iraq
The Washington Times reports that the Iranians who are assisting the Iraqi government in their fight to turn back the so-called Islamic nation’s forces are on the front lines;
The startlingly hands-on role of Iranian Gen. Ghasem Soleimani points to the extent of the Shiite-led Iraqi government’s reliance on its ally Tehran. It also strikes a strong contrast with the more methodical, cautious approach of the United States, Iran’s rival for influence in Iraq. Shiite fighters have come to idolize the Iranians who have moved into the heat of battle alongside them — with two Iranian advisers killed in fighting — while government officials grumble the United States has failed to come to their aid.
While I’m uncomfortable that the Iranians, who haven’t stopped calling us the Great Satan yet, are supporting this war, I’m glad they are – so the world can see what a real war against al Qaeda is supposed to look like. Especially the Iraqis. And the Iranians can stack bodies so we don’t have to. Yeah, tactically they’ll probably suck greatly, but in this kind of war, it’s who can stack the most bodies quicker. In the last Iraq-Iran War, both sides were very good at that. That was Iran’s last experience (aside from piecemeal engagements during our last Iraq War) so maybe we can expect more of the same.

I see it as a win/win situation.
The more of them they can each kill off, the better the world will be.
We need to get ALL of our troops out of the Middle East (Israel excepted0 and back here , deployed along our southern border.
Okay, then. Let’s pull our own people out. NOW.
I’ve said for some time that Iran has been gearing up for war with helicopter manufacturing and testing at three air bases at Isfahan. You can google a satellite shot of that. They also have ammo dumps there. They look like hills of dirt.
Iran has been itching for something like this for a long time. Let them have it and pull our own people out. NOW.
So, we either acknowledge the fact Obama has lost Iraq to Iran and Al Queda (ISIS, whatever you want to call them now) or we go in full bore to take it all back and remain there like we should have….
We aren’t going to do the latter, but Obama damned sure does not want to admit how badly he has screwed up there, and how badly he will screw up in Afghanistan by doing the same damned thing.
So, he will continue to commit troops with their hands tied behind their backs, as our enemies from Iran and ISIS turn Iraq into a massive religious civil war. How can that ever come back to bite us in the ass? Can we elect him Emporor for life?
When it is all said and done and if Iran/Iraq prevail in turning back the insurgents what’s next? What I see is the strong influence of Iran over the Iraqi people turning them against Americans. Thus we still have an Embassy hostage potential. Yet another reason to evacuate and let them have what they want.
In a war like this I don’t think stacking bodies is gonna matter for either side. They don’t value human life very much. And Jonn, be careful next time you talk about stacking dead bodies, VWP probably just creamed his shorts.
Dead Iranians?
Christmas arrived early.
You expect too much of bodaprez if you think he will do anything decisive in this mess that HE created out of whole cloth. The only appropriate thing for the US to do, IMHO, is to pull all of our people out, period, and right now, then as Iran dives into this full force, go in and destroy the oil fields and refineries, at night in stealth aircraft. And I mean pound the living shit out of them. Then arm the Kurds and give some financial assistance to Turkey for their overwhelming refugee load.
But I’m in a foul mood right now, so pay me no mind.
