Thursday morning feel good stories
Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories today, the first is from San Antonio where Miguel Sandoval heard someone breaking into his house;
Sandoval claimed one of the intruders was trying to get into his home through a back door, while a second was attempting to steal items from Sandoval’s truck.
Sandoval told police he opened fire on both men with a rifle, but was not sure whether he hit either intruder.
Minutes later, a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the backside showed up at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital downtown.
The second story comes from Sacramento;
According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers were called to the 1000 block of Arcade Boulevard around 12:18 a.m. Sunday for a robbery in progress. Once at the scene, however, officers found that two young men had been shot dead.
Investigators say one of the residents confronted the suspects during the burglary and fired a firearm in self-defense.
Michele Gigante with Sacramento Police said the occupants of the home are an elderly man and woman, but would not say which of them fired the shots. Neither of them were injured during the break-in.

Of course relatives of the recently departed are already crying to the news cameras that although they were doing something wrong, they did not deserve to die. The homeowner has been robbed at least twice before, and the fingerprints of one of the teenagers matches those from a previous break in at the same house, so this was not his entry into wealth redistribution. Last week in Detroit, same thing happened to another teenager. His Godmother (at least that is what the news station caption read) said there was nothing in that house worth losing a life over. They need to pass that on to the criminal element, not the homeowners.
Shades of “Bonfire of the Vanities.” The gall of some people. Of course, the people making these comments probably have criminal records themselves.
I’m glad the homeowners are safe and sound.
Oh, that’s gonna go over well in prison:
Bubba: What did you do?
Newbie: Burglary.
Thor: How’d ya get caught?
Newbie: Got shot in the azz running away.
Bubba, Thor: (big smile, nod to one another)
Thor: Flip ya?
Bubba: Nah. I got first last time.
Death or wounding by gunfire is an occupational hazard to these thugs.
